Defenses [ ] While Reach was seen as the main hub of the UNSC's military power. Yggdrasil served the purpose of weapons and utility testing, with the focus being mainly on vehicles such as the M909 Heavy Assault Platform . The Gliese-Vernactor Fleet was a moderately sized carrier group with the supercarrier UNSC Wotan at its core.
Yggdrasil contained a semi-mobile array of ten orbital defense platforms, equipped with heavy MAC guns in orbit around it. Yggdrasil also had a network of 5 refit stations orbiting it. Seven of the ODPs were destroyed during the Battle of Yggdrasil , the rest disabled by ground and exo troops. Despite their relatively large numbers, the fleet of warships were either destroyed, rendered inoperable, or permanent land-locked by a surprisingly small Covenant fleet.
