The lesson was a simple one. The objective was to capture the enemy flag. The humans and Sangheili were divided into two six-man teams. An even mix of both human and Sangheili on each side. One side was known as Team-A, the other Team-B.

As the two teams started off on opposite sides of the training facility, they quickly met their opposition. Gunfire exploded from both sides. The enemy team had the advantage: They were on a mound and clearly had the higher ground that provided the most cover.

Team A quickly formed cover and a battle plan. Two Sangheili would provide cover fire, while the rest would flank the enemy team. They all agreed that it was the best plan, but at the cost of a limited supply of weapons, ammo, and equipment. They had no other options.

The two Sangheili quickly returned fire in a defensive position, while the other four team members split off into two groups: one group would flank the east, and the other would flank to the west, coming up from behind to deal the final blow.

As the two manned groups began closing in on the enemy team, the two Sangheili broke from cover and began charging. Bullets whisking past them and some were even hitting their armor. As their shields were flickering until they were low, they took cover and began to fire blindly.

The Sangheili and a marine began popping smoke from the west. Another distraction, and the fight was focused on them now. Perfect. The enemy never knew about the team that was about to kill them from behind.

As the group approaching from the east began charging up the hill, the enemy team turned their fire on the east. It was a three-way battle now. Their plan failing. But just when all hope was lost, a marine threw a flash bang and popped more smoke at just the right time.

With the enemy team dazed and out maneuvered, all three groups of Team A began to surround the enemy team. The enemy team stood in surrender, while a Sangheili took their flag and held it high in the air. All of Team B was cheering in victory.

The commander made the following point: "We are much more efficient when we are willing to share with each other. And we are better problem solvers when we are working together, not individually."
