Beta Company of the SPARTAN-III program. Veronica-B164, born Veronica Maria Sanchez, is a Spartan Operations Headhunter, formerly working as a Headhunter within Beta Company of the SPARTAN-III program. Veronica was born on the Outer Colony world of Nueva Grenada on December 25, 2532 to Isabella Mendez and Juan Sanchez. The pair lived a seemingly normal life, although their insurrectionist ideals were certainly a concern to many the pair weren't activists in the movement nor were they taking part in the battlefield or command structure. Their ideals were still in place when they had their daughter, however were shaken when the Covenant attacked in early November of 2536. Seeing as the UNSC were trying to defend them from the Covenant invasion, the pair attempted to take their daughter to an evacuation craft at the shuttle port in the center of the city.

Early Life

Veronica led a rather normal childhood, although her parents put an emphasis on physical fitness, as her father was a personal trainer and her mother was a physical education teacher. Veronica's parents were both killed when an Elite impaled Juan Sanchez in the abdomen and cut down Isabella Mendez shortly after during the Covenant invasion of their home city of San Larissa. The young Veronica was saved, however by a squad of ODST's and marines who, after taking heavy casualties, managed to whisk the bawling girl to safety. After the young girl was evacuated off-planet and taken into a UNSC-controlled orphanage on Reach later that year. After four months within the facility, she was transferred to an ONI controlled facility when, following analysis of DNA samples taken from her, she was identified as a perfect candidate for the second class of Spartan-III's and a proposal was made and accepted to subject her to even further preparations prior to her actual induction into the program as a trial of what benefits such a situation would offer.
