Vanguards

The Vanguards are a group of peace-keepers, created to keep the Vorenus Imperium in one piece.

Description

The Vorenus had just stabilized their civil war, but trouble was sure to continue for quite some time. So, the Imperium came to the conclusion that peace-keepers were needed, and the Vanguards were formed. At its' simplest, a description for the Vanguards would be an elite, mobile group of judges/police. Though they must follow the rules and customs of the area they are in, if deemed absolutely necessary they can access areas and files of any classification without receiving a punishment. However, while the Vanguards are well versed in politics, should things turn sour they are equally well trained in combat, being skilled enough to hold off four other Vorenus simultaneously. One downside to the Vanguard life-style are the safety precautions: to try and protect any relations to a Vanguard from becoming a target for the enemy, all records of prior existence are erased and the very strictly enforced rule to never meet with your former family or make any new, bonding relationships (such as love) aside from brother-/sister-hood with fellow Vanguards.

Armament

To aid in their duties, they are armed with several specialized weapons:

• Personal Defence System-VI, modified with with two taser cords and capable of firing both tranquilizer darts and bullets
• Anti Personel Smoke Grenade-V
• Specialist Melee Weapon-II

Ranks

This is a list of the ranks, from lowest to highest:

• Pupil
• Officer
• Constable
• Superior
• Commander
• Judge
• Magistrate

The Vanguards are promoted for the amount of missions they successfully complete, in increasing groups of 5. The Judges and Magistrates have completes hundreds of successful missions. It should be noted that there are only ten Magistrates at a time.

Vanguard High Council

Composed of the Ten Voren Magistrates, the High Council oversees all Vanguard activities, and much of the general activities of the Vorenus as well. Each of the Magistrates has their own unique skills, which are used to maximum effect by the Council when matters of importance are discussed; for example, Sapi Brev, as the oldest Magistrate, has acquired great wisdom in his lifetime, while Chist Alek is a grand strategist, highly capable of turning the enemy's tactics against them.
