The V-52 Caracara is a dual-turbine propelled Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft, designed and manufactured by AlbroLight Aeronautics. The V-52 was originally a largely experimental aircraft designed for use by Special Operations Aviators, and saw use by the Special Operations Aviation Wing of the UNSC Air Force in special operations throughout the Great War. Though externally similar to the V-51, with which it shared design elements, the V-52 possessed largely improved electronics and propulsion systems, as well as a more aerodynamic frame and upgraded stealth capabilities.
Following the Human-Covenant War, the V-52 Caracara would ultimately succeed the V-51 Tern and V-144 Falcon VTOL aircraft, which, though largely retained, would gradually be phased out of service.
