Since the community seems divided on the subject and there has been as of yet no real answer to how to deal with the issue, I've decided to bring my foot down on the subject of whether or not Noble Six, aka SPARTAN-B312, can survive the events of Halo: Reach.
In short: No.
For the long answer, let's start with the actual story. Particularly the last level of Halo: Reach.
As we know, the last level of Halo: Reach is Noble Six simply fighting off ever larger and more powerful waves of Covenant forces. It's clear this is intended to serve as a last stand, Noble Six's shining moment as a Lone Wolf. It's a neat level that does well to marry the plot and gameplay together (important in a, you know, game) and serves that purpose quite well.

I've often wondered how the starship navigation in Halo works, but I've never really seen anyone touch on it at all except in books, in which we get orders along the lines of "one-two-seven by zero-four-five." I believe, however, that I have determined the answer. I've noted that none of said numbers exceed three-hundred and sixty, if memory serves me well. This leads me to believe that UNSC navigation is based on an azimuth-elliptical degree system similar to x-y coordinates. The degrees system is much easier, as it negates the need for a third coordinate value and requires fewer calculations, saving time. Here's how I'm guessing it works:

Here I aim to set up a basic summary/FAQ for AAO in order to help people create their stuff without me jumping on them. Feel free to comment and tell me if I should add anything, or just ask a question.
1. What is Against All Odds?
There are a few summaries on this wikia, the primary one being in that link. Other than that, all I can really offer you is a list of stories that form the backbone of AAO:
2. What type of government/economic system is the UEG?
The closest term I can think of is a socialist democracy, in which officials are elected and represented, but the economy is Communist in nature. Kinda. Sorta.
Jobs still pay different wages. That is, a surgeon will make much more than the ditch digger. However, all surgeons make the sam…

This post is just to clear a few things up. If you are a knave, take this seriously. If you're not, then be warned that this is a momentary departure from the lols.
In recent weeks it has become apparent to me that people are not happy with the rules, citing that they "restrict their creativity" and complain that "it's fanfiction, so I can do what I want."
I'll deal with the second issue first -as it's the most easily destroyed- using the words of the great Laburnum (not exact, of course).
Yes, you have every right to write whatever you want. However, we have just as much right to rip it to shreds.
There's also the matter that you signed up to this wiki and, by doing so, agreed to follow the rules no matter how unfair they may seem.
The "res…Read more >
