The UNSC Discovery (D-2) was completed and successfully launched in 2135 by the Chinese Republic; in 2139, the Discovery was officially transferred to the United Nations Space Authority, alongside several other internationally-built warships. In 2152, the Discovery was classified as a destroyer, as were those previously transferred and the Sentry-class patrol spacecraft very shortly thereafter.
