Thyr 'Valum is a sangheili commander that served in both the Covenant Empire and the Covenant Separatists. Thyr would later side with the various anti-government movements, as well as leading his own group The Crimson Lance, after he was falsely charged with treason. Thyr initially worked with The Fallen but abandoned them after they kidnapped sangheili newborns to frame the humans. The Lance would latter use the Sanghelious Massacre to launch an assault on the Vadam keep. There, during a duel with Thel Vadam, Thyr was forced to question his motivations. Thrown into an identity crisis Thyr exiled himself and the rest of the Lance to the far reaches of space, hoping to find where is alliegences lie.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Thyr was born during the 9th age of reclamation, 2530 on the human calender, 5 years after the human covenant war began. He was raised in the keep of Valum in one of Sangheilious' northern provinces. The keep of Valum wasn't as large nor powerful as those in states such as Vadam but it was known for it's high food production rates and the few honours it had attached to its name. The famous banshee pilot Satar 'Valumee and Major Urkron 'Valumee are two of the most prominent honours won by this keep.
Thyr was brought up by his uncle Akilion 'Valum. Akilion was younger than most uncles but he had suffered a heavy wound during the beginning of the human covenant war and so had been removed from the front lines to serve as a teacher, luckily his honour had remained intact. As such his lessons were more unorthodox than the older males would have liked. Akilion taught the younglings to think more instead of just using brute force like most sangheili did. This had a profound effect on all the sangheili he taught, especially Thyr. Both Akilion and Thyr grew very close during this time, Akilion acted as a sort of older brother to Thyr as well as his closest friends Stella 'Valum and Shar 'Valum.
Thyr was also taught by one of the keeps elders, Xer 'Valum, who taught him of sangheili history and the various codes that the young Thyr would have to abide by. Thyr enjoyed these lessons taking especial interest in the various sangheili commanders that had existed over the years and the tactics and manoeuvres they employed to defeat their enemies.
When the time came Thyr and Shar both left their keep for the Sangheili Military Academy. Thyr was initially nervous about leaving his keep and all he had known but Akilion comforted him, telling him to trust his heart and he will do well. Thyr and Shar arrived at the academy and immediately begun their training.
