The battle for Hat Yai, otherwise referred to as the Hat Yai campaign was a large scale military counter-offensive during the early years of the Human-Covenant war.

Due the the unique weathers patterns and topography of the planet, the Unified Earth Government would centralize Hat Yai's colonization efforts towards a single continent. This consequently resulted in heavy civilian losses during the battle for Hat Yai, but it can be said that

While official sources state that the battle was dubbed as a decisive win for the United Nation Space Command, these revelations would be overshadowed 26 years later when a war journalist "Jake Courage" would disclose the true consequences of the battle and inevitably lead the Unified Earth Government in publishing the "civil archives and publications administration".
