The Tetellin Union is one of the native factions on Utopan. They are based in the rainforests of the Tetellin continent. The most technologically advanced, they have a small military of well-trained soldiers.
They are also members of the Utopan Coalition.
Brief History[]
The Tetellin Union were once three tribes living in the rainforests. Each of them chose to keep to themselves and faced each other with some hostilies. But this was broken when each of the three chieftains' sons were found missing. The three chieftains banded together and went into the forest. After a while, they discovered their children in an open patch playing with each other. Years would pass before the three children would grow up. Once they became chieftains of their tribes, each of them made a pact or treaty, combining their tribes and created a union. So thus, the Union was created, ruled jointly by the three chieftains. The rule is successive, the leaders passing on their titles to their children. Even though gender is a major issue, some of the rulers were women..
The Union kept to themselves, preferring to spend their time on the developement of technology. Eventually, the other Factions discovered the Union's technology, and eventually the Union prospered and led to the creation of several Trading Outpost near their border which were modernately guarded.. But there were still some hostilities with the Union and the Factions. Especially with the Dari Sventir.
When the UNSC Above Reproach arrived, the Tetellin Union was one of the first people to come and greet the survivors. Soon, a treaty was formed stating that they would not attack each but instead aid each other. Years later, this alliance would be tested, with the war.
Culture[]
The TU is rather isolationist, preferring not to mix itself up in other factions' wars and trivial matters. They are generally left alone by the other nations, although their goods are always in high demand. They have many electronics and have even developed radio and television.
Military[]
The military of the Union is reported to be the best out of all the factions. But sadly, it is the smallest. However, because of this, they have developed commando groups and other elite soldiers who can do more damage than a larger force of conscripts. There are 3 highly trained units and their is another but separate branch- the Regular millitary. The Regular Millitary of the Union is comprised of volunteers and some conscripts. In them is placed a zeal where they are extremely prideful. Many of the members are said to fanatical.
