"Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. The Covenant destroyed hundreds of our ships. Let’s destroy hundreds of theirs."
―Vice Admiral Jan Hipper

The Talion-class Battlecruiser, sometimes referred to as the Retaliation-class, is a highly advanced cruiser that serves as one of their most lethal ships. The first Battlecruiser developed, it was intended to be a nimble, savage hunter, able to quickly disable or destroy larger vessels. The ship is built around an exceedingly powerful Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, and with a powerful and responsive reactor, the ship features strong secondary armaments, powerful engines, and next-gen sensors, making it a fearsome vessel to encounter. This is offset by armour little better than a normal line cruiser. Such vessels are used as artillery ships, taking out heavy ships from long range.

UNSC Comments

"In a stand up fight it is much more useful as an artillery ship. Its fast enough to get into position, but isn't well designed for a stand up fight."

"Shooting anything smaller than a cruiser isn't worth it. The ship is made to destroy enemy cruisers and carriers. Though you need something a lot tougher to deal with an Assault Carrier."
