"'Got any regrets,' huh... You should've asked me that years ago."
Sergeant Sieghard Schuchardt was an augmentee of Project ORION who served within the UNSCMarine Corps and fought the Human-Covenant War. A considerate soul who knew the value of caution, Schuchardt held a number of non-standard skills that allowed him to eagerly take up a number of other jobs on the battlefield.
Raised in a primitive village and on the streets of Paris IV, Schuchardt's strong work ethnic would see him find work as a courier and truck driver before he made the decision to enlist into the UNSC Marines. First serving as a tank operator on Green Hills, he would eventually be convinced to join the Marine Special Forces, working his way up to become an elite Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST). Specialising in high-risk hostage crises, he would amass enough of a reputation to be invited into Project ORION. Rising to become one of their most skilled operatives, he would take part in various operations on Eridanus II, Victoria and Wealth alongside Icepick Team. Growing tired of the constant action, he would be pulled out of the field to assess and train future ORIONs until the project was shut down in 2506.
The standard-issue rifle of the UNSC Marine Corps during the war, the MA5B was a rugged and highly reliable rifle that served as Schuchardt's primary weapon prior to his reassignment into the Hellbringers. Containing a sixty-round magazine unique to this model, Schuchardt disliked the rifle's inaccuracy at range, yet the lack of any spare general-issue weapons saw him reluctantly use during his early career.
The standard-issue sidearm for the UNSC prior to the end of the war, the M6E magnum was a rugged, adaptable handgun loaded with an eight-round magazine. While relatively heavy-hitting when compared to the likes of the PK M2019 pistol, many UNSC personnel look down on it for it's lack of stopping power when compared to the likes of the "G" and "H" variants. Nevertheless, it's more ergonomic size and manageable recoil saw Schuchardt utilise a pair of M6Es for the majority of his career, preferring to load them with HE rounds for maximum effectiveness against energy shielding.
The NA4/Defoliant Projector was a crude but effective anti-personnel weapon that was traditionally been the weapon-of-choice for hellbringers for almost thirty years before Schuchardt joined. Rugged and reliable much like the majority of the UNSC's arsenal, the NA4 was capable of dousing opponents up to twenty metres away in a variety of combustible fuels. Schuchardt's flamethrower includes an M301 grenade launcher loaded with high-explosive fragmentation grenades and flashbangs to allow him to soften both heavily-armoured targets and disorient large groups of infantry, respectively. However, the NA4's weight and bulky size means that Schuchardt prefers to substitute it for smaller projectors, as it prevents him from carrying anything more than a sidearm.
Steadily supplementing other models of flamethrowers throughout the war but only replacing them in the final years of the war, the M7057 flamethrower was a smaller, much lighter version of the NA4 that utilised Pyrosene-V as fuel. Although suffering a reduced range at only thirteen metres, the M7057's minimised bulk allowed the user to carry a secondary rifle such as an MA5-series assault rifle, as well as holster it on their back when not in use.
Trading bullet velocity, magazine size and some accuracy for a noticeable reduction in size and weight, the MA5K was originally developed for the UNSC's special forces but has since spread across it's branches as an alternative to the unreliable M7 SMG. Providing greater firepower and accuracy at the cost of magazine size, the MA5K served as Schuchardt's longer-ranged weapon when welding the M7057 flamethrower, being fitted with a 2x smart-linked sight.
