Lieutenant Terry Isaacs: "Six bulkheads have been breached, outer armour is compromised in seventeen locations, reactor 2 has a coolant leak and reactor 3 has been ejected. The aft magazine is on fire as well."
Lieutenant Commander Vernon Abrams: "Good, we’re still in fighting shape!"
When the Rivia-class Frigate was designed, it was designed with survivability in mind. With multiple redundancies, new armour technologies, self-repair features, heavier super structure, and other systems to protect the crew. This results in a rugged little ship, capable of staying in the fight longer than most. It is ideal for long patrols, or for ‘tip of the spear’ escorts. However, its long lasting nature comes at a cost, in that they’re more expensive that most other models of frigate, they lack the modularity of other designs, they have greatly reduced hangar space, and the interior is often cramped.
