Percy attended a local but poor school a great many kilometers away from their farmhouse. The distance forced Percival to take on strict priorities during the day, the less favored one being waking up around 5:00 in the morning. Chester was a very sociable boy during his childhood but often dedicated himself to a small group of people, compared to the more popular students in the school. "Heroes never die."
―A personal quote from Percival's Living Monument speech.

Admiral Percival Montgomery Chester (also known as Percy and Monty) is a human commissioned officer who participated through the Insurrection and the Human-Covenant War. In the aftermath of the war, Chester was provided with an experimental ship that was designed as the precursor of modern Infinity-class technologies known as the Eeyore. Though quite similar, the Eeyore was obviously inferior to its successor in literally every way.

As the captain of a fully operational ship, the Eeyore proved to be one of the more prominent ships during the aftermath of the war. Chester was best known to be the wisest of the entire UNSC. Many had grown respect for Chester after he decided to announce a project called the Living Monument. After this event however, many soldiers within the military began to see Chester as a literal 'living monument' himself because of his great age.
