Oompa is a δ-type terrestrial dwarf and a UNSC colony world. Located in the Indus Corus system of the First Rim, it was incorporated in the early 2440s, although evidence suggests insurgent exiles may have lived on the planet as early as 2410.
The planet is known for the fact that while its perihelion is nearly one-and-a-half billion kilometers, the effects of greenhouse gases have brought the dwarf planet's mean temperature up to approximately three degrees Celsius, a climate that, while not ideal, would allow Human colonization. As of late 2553, census reports indicate an estimated population of nearly 1.2 million people.
