Lieutenant Commander Odin O'Connell was the Chief Medical Advisor to Colonel James Ackerson and Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose for Project: CHRYSANTHEMUM. O'Connell was involved in the process of precuring and vetting all chemical compounds used in CHRYSANTHEMUM, and was the main source of research into the usefulness, effectiveness, and side effects of each augmentation. O'Connell was one of very few Medical Technicians who assisted in Project: ASTER, and as such had intimate knowledge of human biological enhancement and augmentation.
As "Chief Advisor of Medical Advancement", O'Connell worked directly under Colonel Ackerson through the Beta-5 Division to direct CHRYSTHANTHEMUM with the intentions of being less surgically invasive, and notably more survivable. Though O'Connell did not necessarily discover or create any of the compounds used in the project, it was his leadership which led to the choosing of the chemicals by Beta-5 Division. It was also O'Connell who assisted Ambrose utilize off the books augmentations using illegal substances in the Gamma Company augmentation class.
As of 2552, O'Connell is missing and presumed dead, having been declared missing after the Battle of Earth.
