Neural physics is a complex physics concept discovered by the Niex, explaining the influence of one's mind upon the physical world. As of four million years ago, neural physics had become the basis of all Niex technology, including the discovery of hyperdrive. Although advanced, only beings capable of comprehending the laws of all spatial dimensions may utilize the laws of this form; the Niex themselves are the only known species capable of this. Neural physics is believed to fill in the gap of unanswered questions left when computing with all other more simple equations.
The laws of neural physics allow the rendering of virtually indestructible physical objects without mass. In other words, the creation of actual figures only using one's mind, or "neural matter". The process involves a being's thoughts being materialized either permanently, or temporarily. Permanent neural matter may take the form of walkways, support structures, or basic principle defying figures (such as the famous "penrose stairs"), while the temporary usage of neural matter may cause swift, invisible influenced changes. Both methods come with consequence, however, as an unassisted mind performing such feats may result in a slight mental strain. Although much is possible using neural physics, the Niex claim that their are limits on how they can utilize this force.
Due to Niex technology having been heavily based upon advancements in neural physics, a "neural weapon" (such as the Milky Way Galaxy's Halo Installations) would have the potential to eliminate all "permanent" forms of neural matter within the weapon's range. Therefore, neural weaponry may just be the one, true achilles' heel of the Niex.
It has been considered that all unaccounted-for matter may actually be invisible neural matter.
Trivia[]
- Neural physics, although a canological property in the Halo universe, appears to be based upon "the force"; a concept heavily emphasized in the Star Wars universe.
