Kig-Yar Sniper |notable= }} Nelc is a Ruuhtian Kig-Yar pirate prince and a renowned sniper. He was once a sniper of the Covenant and at the start of the Great Schism, he was among those chosen by the Prophet of Truth to assassinate the Sangheili Councilors and was provided with a Type-50δ particle beam rifle for the task. The Fall of High Charity prevented Nelc and his fellow snipers from entirely succeeding in their mission and forced them to fend for themselves. Nelc himself succeeded in escaping the Flood-infested Covenant capital with a crew of other Kig-Yar and eventually began his career in piracy.

History

Nelc was born in the continent of Ruuht on the planet Eayn. Upon reaching adulthood, he joined the Covenant military and due to his marksmanship, he soon became a sniper.

Human-Covenant War

Nelc participated and survived a few battles throughout the Human-Covenant War, proving himself to be an incredibly skilled marksman, having slain many humans throughout the engagements he participated in. Nelc's abilities were eventually noticed by the Hierarchs themselves}}.

Great Schism

When the Great Schism began, the Prophet of Truth began forming an elite team of snipers to assassinate the Sangheili Councilors. Nelc was among the snipers chosen for this team, and each member was given a copy of the new master-crafted Type-50δ particle beam rifle. The Parasite's invasion of High Charity plunged the entire Covenant capital into chaos, forcing Nelc and the other snipers to fend for themselves. Nelc himself was able to assemble a group other jackals with him as the lead, and the Kig-Yar fought their way through the Flood and commandeered a docked missionary ship.

After Nelc and his comrades escaped High Charity, he proclaimed himself as a pirate prince. He and his crew became independent pirates and mercenaries, no longer serving the collapsing Covenant Empire.

Post-Covenant War conflicts

In the year 2557, Nelc and his crew found themselves employed by Jul 'Mdama's Covenant.
