It was one of the few colonies found, not to need any form of terraforming before being considered habitable. Battle of the Leonis Minoris system During the year 2537, during the Human-Covenant War, the system was under Covenant attack. Admiral Cole was forced to sacrifice the system's other two colonies in order to protect Minorca. While this was considered to be a great loss, Minorca's population was greater than Leonis Minoris' other two colony's combined.
