Spartan

Ahmed-B077

772px-UNSC Spartan Emblem
Appears in Centroid
Born 2529
Status KIA (2545)
Biography
When he was very young, Ahmed's home planet of Arcadia was attacked by the Covenant en force. As residents of Arcadia City, his family was caught in the worst of the attack. During the evacuation he was split from his parents in the chaos. His parents were killed when their evacuation craft was destroyed, and Ahmed was only nearly whisked away from danger by Marines from the UNSC Spirit of Fire, sparking his interest in the soldiers. When conscripted as a SPARTAN-III years later, he sought to emulate the Marines who saved him and focused on taking a caring role to his squad.

As a member of Team Golf, Ahmed was one of 30+ Spartans that would be assigned to the Diamond Initiative.

Ahmed would be killed during Operation: RAUCOUS SOLITUDE.

Joel-B404

772px-UNSC Spartan Emblem
Appears in Centroid
Born 2531
Status KIA (2545)
Biography
Joel's parents, farmers, had sent Joel to his cousins in the capital of Madrigal when the Covenant attacked. He evacuated with his extended family, and never saw his parents again. While a refugee on Mars, Joel ran away from his family and began a life of petty crime. He was picked up and conscripted off the streets, years later. Unlike the rest of his squad, Joel shared a link with fellow Spartan Andrew-B191, in that both of their parents had been killed on Madrigal during it's glassing. As such, both had been on similar paths, splitting when they arrived on Reach as refugee's. Joel lived a homeless life while in a Refugee camp, utilizing the state sponsored programs, where his genetic code was first entered into a broader database.

As a SPARTAN-III Beta candidate, AI DEEP WINTER would often put him in leadership roles, and he quickly became a Team Leader, assigned to Team Golf prior to 2544. His leadership also was flagged by AI Fluellen as desirable, and made his team one of his main candidate groups for the Diamond Initiative, which was emphasizing leadership from Spartans. Joel, who did every much embody what was desired from unit leadership, had only a small black mark which came directly from his rivalry with Spike-B337 (which he perceived as an intense, but mutual rivalry).

In 2544, he would lead Golf on a counter-piracy operation after elements of his team were reprimanded for being Absent without Leave. This was due in part to Spike reporting members of Beta Company travelling off base at unauthorized hours. This inadvertently caused Team Golf to be the closest, later, to the Bravo 9/Mata Hari incident. His leadership during the taking of the Mata Hari would result in him being made as Master Chief, the highest rank of any of the Diamond Initiative Spartans.

Joel would be killed during Operation: RAUCOUS SOLITUDE.

Jorge-052

Jorge swordbase1
Appears in Index Alpha, Halo: Reach
Born March 5, 2511
Status KIA (2552)
Biography
This is a fanon expansion of a canon element. See the original canon article for a full brief.

Jorge-059 would be part of Green Team under Kenneth-139 from 2531 to 2552. He would be instrumental in the rescue the young Annalee (before she was Spartan B-191), and would be one of the first to get her to open up. He would also be a massive key to the ODST and Marine forces on Jericho VII, where he would meet Waimarie Paiwei during Operation: REMARQUE. During his time with Green Team, he would become a very close friend of Malcolm-059's. It was during this time, that he also became a bit of a tinkerer, and modified his armor to assist in his preferred role as a machine-gunner.

When Kenneth-139 and Maria-062 were injured prior to Operation: RED FLAG, Jorge was assigned to a new unit in the UNSC Army, NOBLE Team. As Noble-5, Jorge would help defend Reach during the Covenant's attack, ultimately sacrificing himself to take out a Covenant carrier. While he succeeded, his sacrifice was in vain. Shortly after he detonated a jerry-rigged Slipspace "bomb", the full invasion fleet attacked Reach—arguably making his sacrifice moot.

Malcolm-059

Mal
Appears in Index Alpha, Halo: First Strike, Halo: Silent Storm
Born 2511
Status KIA (2552)
Biography
This is a fanon expansion of a canon element. See the original canon article for a full brief.

Malcolm-059 would be part of Green Team under Kenneth-139 from 2531 to 2552. Malcolm would be instrumental in the rescue the young Annalee (before she was Spartan B-191). He would also be a massive key to the ODST and Marine forces on Jericho VII, where he would meet Waimarie Paiwei during Operation: REMARQUE. During his time with Green Team, he would become a very close friend of Jorge-052's, but remained reserved and a bit rebellious of leadership, getting him into trouble from time to time.

When Kenneth-139 and Maria-062 were injured prior to Operation: RED FLAG, and Jorge was assigned to a new unit in the UNSC Army, Malcolm would be assigned to Frederic-104's Red Team. He would die during the Fall of Reach not but a few months later.

Maria-062

Maria-062
Appears in Index Alpha, Halo Graphic Novel
Born 2511
Status Retired
Biography
This is a fanon expansion of a canon element. See the original canon article for a full brief.

Maria-062 would be part of Green Team under Kenneth-139 from 2531 to 2552. She would be instrumental in the rescue the young Annalee (before she was Spartan B-191). She would also be a massive key to the ODST and Marine forces on Jericho VII, where he would meet Waimarie Paiwei during Operation: REMARQUE.

Maria and Kenneth would be injured prior to Operation: RED FLAG; she would remain in rehabilitation until after the Fall of Reach. Thereafter, she would retire post her testing of John-117's new armor; her focus would be on family life. She would keep up with Kenneth during her retirement, often as a source of advice. She would turn down Kenneth's offer to come out of retirement in 2557.

Spencer-B337

772px-UNSC Spartan Emblem
Appears in Centroid
Born 2528
Status KIA (2545)
Biography
Spencer, nickname "Spike", was an Earthborn. His mother died when he was young, and his father died in the line of duty during the Human-Covenant War. He would be chosen as a SPARTAN-III Candidate after he showed immense anger and lust for revenge when approached with the concept.

As a Candidate, he would become entangled with an intense rivalry with Spartan Joel-B404, as he was the leader for Team Oscar. Spike would, in particular, hold a broader grudge against Golf Team as he and Spartan Annalee-B220 had shared a multi-year relationship that was ended by Annalee in 2543. The relation started as a sort of sibling-like one, and grew into an early teen relationship. Annalee cut it off due in part to Spencer's angst against her team, who she saw as family. He suspected, also, this was due to her having interest in another Spartan, whom he highly suspected to be Joel—though after he ratted out Annalee and others on Team Golf for being absent without leave, he realized this wasn't the case.

As a member of Team Oscar, Spencer was one of 30+ Spartans that would be assigned to the Diamond Initiative.

Spencer would lead his team during Operation: RAUCOUS SOLITUDE, but all except him would be KIA. He became paramount in the extraction of Annalee and Spartan Andrew-B191 from the Operation, ultimately sacrificing himself after he became gravely injured.

Wei-B256

Wei 2545
Appears in Centroid
Born July 2, 2530
Status Unknown
Biography
Zhang Wei’s parents were killed during the glassing of Estuary in 2533. Wei grew up on streets of Meridian, as a refugee. It was from Meridian that he was conscripted into the Spartan ranks for Beta company. Wei was a generally quiet child, and that continued into his Spartan career. Not one to mince words, he spoke only when it was necessary. Prone to fits of blinding anger, and protective of his squad, he found early success with Golf, including their counter attack against the Pirate vessel Mata Hari.

As a member of Team Golf, Wei was one of 30+ Spartans that would be assigned to the Diamond Initiative.

Wei would be the first known Spartan POW captured after Operation: RAUCOUS SOLITUDE.

Aho 'Fugoree

Aho
Appears in Centroid
Born 2520
Status KIA (2545)
Biography
Aho was born on Khael'mothka, a distant relative to a Kaidon of Sanghelios. Aho would join the Covenant military when of the right age, and would fight in many ground engagements with Humanity, killing several hundred humans personally. Eventually, his attention became focused on Naval prowess and was made Commander of frigate, Holy Canon, under the watch of Shipmaster Isba 'Kelusee. Kelusee would bring his small contingent to the Ghel System (Human Designation Biller Pavonis) in 2540 as a local security force tasked with guarding an ongoing archaeological research project. Aho would remained stationed and run general security of this system for the duration.

On June 13th 2545, the Ghel system was attacked by Humanity, ultimately taking the life of Isba 'Kelusee. 'Kelusee ordered the destruction of the Forerunner artifact known as the Guiding Light, but Aho felt that this was a breach of code, and made plans to save as much data as he could. He ordered engineer Prances on Air to retreive what it could, and sent his personal Elite guard to the surface to ensure it's protection. This proved a Pyrrhic victory as the Guding Light was destroyed, but Prances on Air was able to save some data before being rescued by some of his team. This, however, became muddled and Aho was ordered to be executed for inaction by the Minor Prophet, Scorn. He was spared this fate by Sulde 'Auqusai in exchange for loyalty, and the intention of sending Scorn back to High Charity under pretenses of meddling with military operations.

Aho, blinded by his faith, though, would secretly report to the Prophet and become a double agent for Scorn, ultimately betraying Sulde's trust and arranging his murder. Fate, however, saw to it that the Prophet never intended to let Aho live, and he was executed by Chieftan Kulljul on Scorn's behalf.
