The Mark II Magnetic Accelerator Cannon was a Miniature-Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, that worked just like its oversized brothers, the MAC, the larger Heavy MAC, and the colossal "Super" MAC. It was equipped to various ships from very early-2552, through 2567, until the Mark III Magnetic Accelerator Cannon became available en mass. The weapon shot 10-ton Tungsten-Depleted Uranium slugs at 47% the speed of light, inflicting a large amount of damage to whatever it happened impacted upon.

Due to the type of weapon, the Mark II Magnetic Accelerator Cannon was incapable of being used as an Point-Defense weapon.
