The Mark-2547B "Mini-Mac" is a modified version of the Mark-2547. It is designed to operate off of a ships power supply instead of a vehicles. This allows the weapon to fire a larger round, at higher velocities, with a lesser reload and recharge time. The Mark-2547B excels at taking down small craft and warships, and can even damage larger ones. Currently the Neith Class Heavy Frigate has 3 mounted.
Operation[]
The Mark-2547B uses 3 Liner Electromagnetic Coils, spaced 23 feet apart from each other. This accelerates the 40cm Mark-7 Armor Piercing Ferromagnetic Slug at speeds exceeding 3200 KM/S. Running off of a ships power supply allows the cannon to load and recharge every 12 seconds.
Design[]
Just like the Mark-2547, the weapon is turreted, and possesses a wide, but relatively short barrel. The MK-2547 is relatively larger, designed for ship to ship combat, and to give room for more electromagnetic coils.
