"Lighter and faster than the competition and half the price without sacrificing any quality, the new M754 Thylacine is the perfect lightly armored vehicle for anti-armor and anti-fortification operations in the rough and tumble colonial frontier!"
―Advertisement for the M754.

The M754 Light Armored Vehicle marketed under the nickname of Thylacine, was a lightly armored combat vehicle designed and produced by Baal Defense Solutions in the aftermath of the Human-Covenant War, mostly for sale to colonial militias, though it was purchased in limited quantities by both the UNSC and other private entities. Intended for use in anti-armor and anti-fortification operations in both the urban and rural environments prevalent through the colonies and Frontier where heavier armor would be impractical. It was a commercial success, with BDS picking up dozens of contracts from both Inner Colony defense forces and Outer Colony and Frontier militias, vastly outselling similar designs and the more famous M808 Scorpion in every sector save military contracts.
