"Right now main loading bay is currently decompressing, with multiple fires, and lethal micro-debris. Completely inhospitable to human life. Better send in a Reliant."
―Anonymous UNSCN personnel

The M20 Reliant Automated Multifunction Drone is a UNSC drone.

Description[]

The Reliant AMFD is a highly versatile machine utilised by the UNSC. Strong, resilient, and dexterous, the Reliant is deployed by the UNSC in hundreds of roles. Its used for support for colonisation efforts, erecting structures and hauling heavy cargo, it is used by the UNSC Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force for engineering purposes, assembling structures, building defences, and repairing UNSC equipment. It's biggest user is the UNSC Navy, deployed on almost every ship, performing repairs to damaged vessels, and regular maintenance. A massive improvement over previous repair drones, these machines can maintain a vessel so long as it is powered. It is also used with Construction Battalions, building deep space installations and repairing docked vessels.

The Reliant's versatility stems from it's design. Built in a humanoid form, it is stable, and surprisingly nimble, with dextrous hands capable of precise repair and tool usage. The drone has micro-thrusters for zero-gravity action, magnetic induction soles, tethers and hooks for movement, magnetic stowage plates for carrying equipment, and a set of digital eyes that including infra-red imagers and telescopic vision. The Reliant is built to be hardened and resilient, allowing it to act in hostile environments. It is driven by a sophisticated computer system, filled with tens of thousands of diagrams, schematics, protocols, and actions, with a machine learning algorithm and neural network that gives it enough intelligence to act independently. It is usually tethered to an A.I., that massively improves coordination and performance.
