The Jupiter-class supercarrier (hull classification symbol: CVA) is a carrier sub-classification in service with the UNSC Navy. There were only a few constructed, among them the most notable vessel was UNSC Trafalgar.
Overview
Superstructure and hull
At a total length of 5.6 kilometers, twice the length of the more ubiquitous Constitution-class heavy carrier, the Jupiter-class supercarrier is the largest warship in the UNSC fleet. Capable of supporting numerous squadrons of both fighter craft and dropships, these ships also feature a large ventral docking bay capable of housing a single frigate or destroyer. This sub-vessel can act as an escape craft for high-ranking personnel should the need arise.
Power generation and propulsion
Shipboard power is supplied by 8 A9B naval fusion reactors, in order to both meet the Jupiter's collosal energy requirements and provide redundancy in case of emergencies. Sublight propulsion is provided by four massive Boglin Fields X-787 series fusion drives. These powerful magnetoplasma engines have a high thrust-to-mass ratio compared to similar engines available at the time of the Jupiter Project's initiation, such as the OKB Karman 950G, Rolls-Royce H1200 or Orphios Energy Systems Saturn-5, all three of which were also considered before the contract was awarded to Boglin Fields. The ship is equipped with a Helios AX-99E translight engine featuring a Series VI CODEN field generator.
Armament
The Jupiter's primary armament is a pair of Mark V Heavy Coil Magnetic Accelerator Cannons, a weapon system that was previously restricted to Philadelphia-class orbital weapon platforms due to energy requirements, which are capable of accelerating an 800-ton slug to a velocity of 7,200 kilometers per second, generating 20.73 exajoules of kinetic energy on impact. The MACs are supplemented by a complement of ASM-96 Howler anti-ship missiles and several Shiva-class nuclear missiles. To defend against hostile warships or starfighters that enter its CQB radius, the ship possesses a number of 11A2R1 heavy railgun batteries and a network of M870 Rampart PDCs.

Behind the scenes
- Like the Constitution-class heavy carrier, the Jupiter-class supercarrier is identical in design to the canon Epoch-class carrier as depicted in the animated adaption of Halo: The Fall of Reach, albeit with a proprtionate upscaling to match the length/dimentions stated by the article; the only noticeable change to the design is the addition of a fourth main engine.
