Joe Harrison was the leader of the original Dragon Squadron. His son is Caleb Harrison, the leader of Team Beta.

At some point, Joe fell in love with a young woman by the name of Bekkah. They were married within a year of them meeting. Over the course of their marriage, they had five children: Caleb Harrison, Hannah Harrison, Isaac Harrison, Aubrie Harrison and Levi Harrison. Only the oldest, Caleb, had anything to do with the military, when he was enrolled in Team Beta. Hannah became a doctor, while Aubrie went on to become a writer, writing a book about her father's days in the UNSC Navy. Levi and Isaac opened up a Tai Qwan Do martial arts study together, having fell in love with it in their younger years.
