"I heard a story once. About an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper and an Elite. The ODST tried shooting the damn thing, but he kept missing. So he pretended to trip and fall. When the elite came to stab him, he rolled to the side and grabbed it's sword, and he killed it. Moral? Deception means victory. Victory means bloodshed. Peace, prosperity, it's bullshit."
―Jay-I425 tells a story to a Spartan-IV on Requiem.

Spartan-I425, better known as Jay-I425 (Born Jay Tyranian, also known as Anchor One), was a Spartan-III commando who was once part of Incognito Company, up until he was extracted from his garrison in 2551. He was assigned with Jayne-I428, Kal-I338, and Adam-I420 for Fireteam Gamma One, later known as Anchor Team. He was first deployed in 2540. In 2551, Jay was part of the small group candidates in Incognito Company who received Mark-V MJOLNIR, due to having the genetic markers that the Spartan-IIs often had. This was the reason he had been pulled out. With this genetic advantage, he could utilize the benefits of his CHRYSANTHEMUM augmentations and wear Mark-V MJOLNIR armor. He later would receive the Generation Two MJLONIR after completing his training in the Spartan-IV Program.

He was also equipped with Maria for a brief period of time, a female "smart" AI created with the brain tissue of a deceased Spartan-III from Incognito Company.

Jay often was resentful of ONI for sending so many Spartans on missions they would likely never survive. However, this never really drove him to think about defection or going AWOL, although he would often get frustrated when ONI would fail to see the value of their Spartan-IIIs and send them to their deaths.

Jay hoped -or more like wished- that someday the UNSC and the Covenant would stop finding Forerunner artifacts, due to the apparent trouble they brought to the Orion Arm.

Biography

"Christ, with the amount of Forerunner artifacts we find, I wonder if the Covenant is as annoyed as we are."
Jay to Kal-I338

Early Life (2524-2532)

Jay as a child often stated the obvious, and was considered quite obnoxious by most other children. His friends had once called him the "walking megaphone", and he actually proudly took that title, often milking that fact for no reason other than attention. He was also often very protective of his siblings. However, when his father was killed, Jay became extremely quiet and closed off from everyone else.

Before he was taken into the company, Jay bore witness to a terrible tragedy when his mother, Sarah was fighting with their father, Alan. During the fight, Sarah grabbed a knife from the kitchen drawer and stabbed Alan 17 times in the chest. Jayne was the one to call the police after she got home from school, and soon afterwards Sarah Tyranian was convicted of murder. Now essentially orphans, they were sent to their aunt and uncle on the neighboring system of Beta Hydra. Now living on Beta Hydra III, Jay and Jayne were bullied heavily by the children at their new school for no apparent reason at all. This would not last long, however, as one month later the Covenant made landfall. Miraculously, Jay and Jayne survived by hiding in a storage container in their basement, but suffered when they had to hear their last living relatives die. The two were saved when five army troopers came into the house for shelter, only to find the two. While two of the soldiers would be killed during their evac, they managed to escape.

Recruitment (2532)

After the attack, Jay was confronted by multiple ONI agents a few days later, asking him to join the program, and Jay accepted, but with a catch- that he could bring Jayne. The agents were hesitant, but they accepted Jayne overall due to the twins being rather similar in terms of personality. Although he and his sister had failed to be accepted into Alpha Company, he was rerouted to Incognito Company, which gave him a second chance to become a Spartan-III.

After being recruited, the two were taken aboard a Pelican and taken to the UNSC Incognito's Night.

Incognito Company (2532-2551)

Main article: Incognito Company

Jay and Jayne were taken into the company when they were both nine years old. He was randomly assigned the number I425, and then educated by numerous smart AI aboard the Night. After his education was complete, they had their first training course, where he and the other candidates had to sprint through an obstacle course and help their fellow teammates if they fell. Jay managed to finish with his team, but ended up in second place due to Rick-I331's team beating them. The Candidates took this course every month in between tactical training, resulting in Jay's team eventually getting to first place by the end of the month. However, one month before they began hand-to-hand combat training, they went through a series of grueling exercises that tested their mental limits. During the entire month, the Company was forced to go through a month-long simulation where they would be forced to fight in simulated versions of World War One, World War Two, and several other historical wars within human history. During this, Jay was practically forced beyond shell-shock. He forced himself to protect his sister and his team, but watched his team die in the simulation anyways. Jay was shaken after the month was over, and it took several weeks for Jay to fully get over it.

The next seven years held hand-to-hand combat training and weapon training, and there was also two optional training courses; Field Medic training and Demolitions training. Jay ended up taking an extensive course with demolition training and also hand-to-hand combat. He received decent scores for Demolition training and was praised in mastering Muay Thai, Jujistu and Karate, with his only match being his sister, who had mastered Tae Kwon Doe, Jujitsu and Krav Maga. However, a rivalry grew between both him and Rick-I331 due to them both being so close to each other on Incognito Company's leaderboard, although Jay was less obsessed with the rivalry than Rick. In 2539, after he managed to get to second place on the leaderboard, a fight was organized between both him and Rick. Rick was the first to attack, but Jay managed to dodge Rick's attack and kicked Rick in the head. Rick would attempt to tackle Jay, but Jay would use his Jujistu to knock Rick into a wall, and Rick was knocked unconscious. After this, Rick was taken off the leaderboard almost entirely.

Finally, after all of that training, Jay was given his augmentations. However, he was one of the few in the Company who received the full benefits of the enhancements, due to having category-2 DNA. For a short period of time, he was relieved to have survived the augmentation process. But after this, he learned that one of his teammates, Shane-I430, had been killed during the process, along with another twenty of the trainees. This almost made him go insane with grief until he finally was given a mission. Being deployed for the first time finally distracted him from Shane's death almost entirely, and after watching more of his fellow spartans die during the battle, his cynical personality began to take root.

Sheildum (2540)

Jay and Incognito Company was sent onto Sheildum for Operation: PHOENIX, and both had managed to prove themselves greatly in combat. During the battle, he and Fireteam Gamma One would sneak past a group of Covenant forces and manage to get on top of a ledge, allowing them to ambush the aliens. In spite of quite a bit of resistance, the team managed to come up on top relatively unscathed. Despite the mission's initial failure, Jay and several other Spartans were tasked to destroy a Covenant Anti-Air Gun, allowing for more UNSC troops to enter the world much more easily. These Spartans included Draco-I317, Ethan-I320, Jayne, and Rick-I361. However, during the battle to get to the Anti-Air Gun, the Spartans realized that they would need to leave some behind so they could act as a diversion while two others could sneak in. Draco, Ethan and Rick decided they would stay behind. Jay and Jayne managed to sneak into the Anti-Air Gun, silently killing any Covenant that got in their way, while also dodging multiple snipers. Jay managed to find the core of the Anti-air gun and destroyed it quickly. Because of this, UNSC troops successfully managed to get to Sheildum alive and take it back from the Covenant.

After this success, however; came a cost. Draco, Ethan and Rick had all been killed by the forces that they had been fending off, brutally dismembered and twisted from plasma and needler fire. Many other Spartans in Incognito Company had died on the mission, but many others managed to evacuate, including all of Gamma One.

The Insurrection (2541-2542)[1]

Jay and many in Incognito Company would be forced to kill their own species, and Jay, for some strange reason, didn't seem all too bothered by this. However, he was disturbed by how willing ONI was to send SPARTANs to their deaths, as he witnessed many die to fighting the Insurrection, rather than actually use them for their real purpose; holding the Covenant back.

He and Gamma One would be sent on a mission with twenty other Spartan-IIIs from Incognito Company, and they would be first tasked to eliminate an Insurrectionist force whom had managed to build a ragtag fleet of six Charon-class frigates. With only a boarding time of seven minutes, due to SPI armor's low air supply, Jay, Jayne, Adam, and Kal managed to get onto one of the rebel frigates, along with three other Spartan-IIIs. The seven Spartans were then ambushed by the notorious mercenary, Shaan Koal, whom managed to take down two of the seven Spartans. Jay managed to tackle the mercenary and render him unconscious with a swift kick to the head. Knowing that it wasn't their objective to kill Koal, they left him alive. They managed to get to the bridge and the Spartans killed the bridge crew. Jay ended up putting the ship on autopilot, where it would be rammed into another rebel ship while the Spartans escaped.

A year later, Jay, Anchor Team, a division of marines and some heavy armor units were sent to eliminate the Insurrection in the Hydra system, along with capture several stolen files that were deemed vital to the war with the Covenant. This unit was codenamed 'Scalpel'. During the mission, Scalpel had to deal with the terrorist group known as the Blood Cougars, a group led by a group of Spartan-IIs and a few IIIs who had gone rogue. The rebels managed to completely slaughter the marines, and Anchor Team was forced to engage them. During the fight, Jay would suffer brutal damage to his SPI armor, and his MA37 had been snapped in two by one of the traitor spartans. What remained of Scalpel fled from the fight while Jay attempted to fend off the rogue spartans. While Scalpel captured the files, Jay was severely injured, and the enemy escaped. By the end of the mission, Jay had almost completely stopped speaking.

Lone Wolf (2542)

In 2542, Jay would have his first lone-wolf mission, where he and Anchor Team would be all separated for nearly a year. The Spartan-III had been sent in a captured Covenant corvette, primarily to scout out a Covenant world for ONI. After Jay arrived at the alien system, he rigged his ship to blow as soon as he gave the order. The Corvette was soon boarded by another suspicious Covenant vessel, and Jay slipped onto this ship.

After escaping onto the surface via a stolen banshee, Jay activated the bombs aboard the ship, and the corvette was blown to bits. The ships nearby were also heavily damaged by the blast, and caused the Covenant fleet near the planet to be put on high alert. On the surface, Jay located a Covenant shipyard. After some searching around, Jay located a Covenant bomb, dragged it to the shipyard, and detonated it.

Now aware of his presence, the Covenant began to scour the world for the spartan. After being found and attacked, Jay suffered several injuries before escaping onto a banshee and stowing away on another Corvette. Jay would be reunited with Anchor Team soon after hijacking the vessel.

Persia IX (2543)

Spartan-I425 fought through the Covenant's unsuccessful attack on Persia IX, but received many injuries in the process. He suffered much plasma damage to his armor, but was lucky enough to manage surviving the battle. During the fight, he suffered head trauma, plasma burns, several broken limbs and a stab wound from a plasma sword. It took an entire year to recover. While Jay was severely injured, he persisted on getting another mission with ONI and UNSC officials. He was mostly unsuccessful, but one year later, he got his wish.

Miridem (2544)

Jay was sent to Miridem to help neutralize the Covenant threat on the world. While the planet was stilled glassed, he managed to kill enough Covenant to satisfy his superiors.

He and Anchor Team was sent to defend multiple UNSC generators from Covenant forces. One of the generators, the one Jay had been first assigned to defend, was damaged by a Covenant Plasma grenade, and then destroyed by a Fuel Rod Gun. Jay, after failing to defend his objective, scaled up a building and jumped onto a Phantom, where he would hijack it and crash it into another Phantom, jumping out right as the ships were about to crash. He would regroup with Anchor Team, where he and several other Spartans would escape from the doomed world.

The Falaknuma Campaign (2544-2551)

In 2544, Jay and Anchor Team were taken to Falaknuma to eliminate a rebel faction, whom had managed to take control of the world completely. The reason such a small force was sent was because of the navigational hazard around the world. Anchor Team's Pelican was shot down, crashing into multiple trees, in the middle of a large forest. Almost all aboard were killed in the crash, excluding Anchor Team and one Spartan-II, Kylie-082. Soon afterwards, the Spartans would engage heavy rebel forces from all sides and would be holed up near the crash site for some time until a group of surviving Army forces began to draw the attention of the insurgents and create a gap that would allow the Spartan teams to successfully weaken the rebels and send them on a retreat.

The campaign would last for several years, up until the Covenant attacked it in 2547.

The second major event during their time on Falaknuma was a year later, where Anchor Team, along with their Spartan-II ally, would manage to take a Falcon and conduct an aerial assault on a rebel outpost. Jay was one of the ones using a turret, and Jay saw multiple generators that seemed important to the base. Jay managed to destroy one of the generators, which made the base quickly lose power. Jay yelled for Kylie, one who was also using a turret, to destroy the machines. Jay managed to destroy another one of the four generators, quickly putting the base in a vulnerable position. Jay and Anchor Team quickly landed and attacked the base, where they would destroy it by damaging the nuclear device inside of the base. Before the base exploded, Jay and Anchor Team, along with Kylie, escaped by the Falcon that they had stolen.

By 2546, it had been already well-known that there were Spartans on Falaknuma. However, what the Insurrection did not know was that two UNSC ships, one Epoch-class heavy carrier and one Charon-class frigate, had come out of Slipspace near the world. The two ships deployed multiple UNSC ground forces to the surface, albeit a limited amount of support due to the navigational hazard around the planet. These forces would assist the anti-insurrection forces heavily during the campaign.

The first large battle was the Battle Of New Moscow, where UNSC forces managed to take back the city of New Moscow. Jay, during the battle, was ordered to hold the line and keep any rebel forces away from the city. Jay did this by having multiple Scorpion tanks block the streets of any rebel vehicles, while the cannons of the tanks would keep away smaller units. Jay then would take a Warthog, with Kal in the passenger seat, and Jayne in the turret. Using a makeshift ramp, they launched into the air and smashed into multiple rebel vehicles, inflicting minor injuries but startling the rebels enough.. The warthog would be flipped on its side, and the three would use the vehicle as cover. After hours of fighting, the rebels retreated as the UNSC began to advance. The battle was a major victory during the campaign, and it seemed that Falaknuma could have peace once more.

Jay on Falaknuma fending off the Covenant

In 2547, the world was attacked by the Covenant. Both of the UNSC ships were destroyed almost instantly, crashing on the world and destroying New Moscow. Jay managed to reactivate a UNSC anti-air gun, which denied access of Covenant air vehicles to where Jay, Anchor Team, and a squad of ODSTs were hiding out. However, Covenant ground troops began to move in on the survivors, when Jay would find a SPNKR. Jay used all the ammo the SPNKR had available, two rockets, which managed to damage a Wraith. Jay would be ordered to hold the line no matter what, and while doing so, got heavily injured, being knocked into a wall by a Plasma Grenade, and went unconscious. He would wake up two days later, inside a partially-destroyed Pelican dropship. Jay abandoned the destroyed aircraft and found that his surroundings had been almost completely destroyed. Jay realized that his coms had been damaged, and he limped through the rubble of a city, where he would find weapons and a group of Marines. There, they would be ambushed by a group of Jackals, Elites, and Grunts. Jay would grab a shotgun off of the ground and kill one of the Elites, first by taking out it's shields and then stabbing it with it's own energy sword. However, a Stealth Elite would sneak up behind him, and almost stabbed him, until one of the Marines tackled the Elite and held it off, until it stabbed her in the stomach. Jay took out his knife and stabbed the Sangheili before it could get back up. Jay and the Marines would fight through Covenant forces and make it to a UNSC base. The group would make contact with the UNSC when they exited the dead zone, where Jay would be picked up by a Pelican, with the rest of Anchor Team on it, where they would be pulled out from the world. Later, they would find out that Falaknuma was re-taken by the UNSC.

MJOLNIR (2551)

Jay found out that he was to be pulled out from Falaknuma, not being informed on what was happening. Jay, along with the rest of those being pulled out, were transported to an orbital station above Reach, where they were given Mark-V MJLNOIR armor, and Fireteam Gamma One officially became known as Anchor Team. They would be stationed there until the Covenant's invasion of Reach.

The Fall Of Reach (2552)

Jay ended up fighting on Reach alongside only Adam-I420. Jay and Adam were tasked with destroying a Covenant Spire, which was holding back a wave of ODSTs from landing on the ground. After gunning down waves of Covenant, Jay and Adam managed to reach the spire, only to be met by several brutes and their chieftan. The Spartans were both injured by the Chieftans gravity hammer; Jay in the shoulder, and Adam in the leg. While they did still manage to defeat the brutes and destroy the spire, Jay and Adam would be missing in action for some time before being rediscovered.

After this, he rendezvoused with the rest of his team and escaped Reach, when Jay noticed the Pillar Of Autumn escaping. While Anchor Team escaped on a pelican that would be taken in by the Spartan's Prayer, Jay lost all optimism for the war after witnessing the world be glassed.

The Attack On Beta Hydri VI (2552)

Main article: Beta Hydri VI

Jay, Adam, Kal, and Jayne were sent on the world to initially fend off Covenant forces from the world. First, Anchor Team was ordered to protect multiple power generators as to make sure that the city of New Berlin still had power. However, Jay hesitated to kill a hunter, which would damage the generator enough to destroy it. Anchor Team was soon after sent to destroy a CCS-class battlecruiser as to prevent the world from being glassed, where he would be given a HAVOK to do so.

Jayassasination

Jay would be shot in the shoulder twice by a needle rifle, and then also was ambushed by an Elite using active camouflage. Jay managed to kill the Elite using his shotgun, and after that, Jay activated the HAVOK nuke that they were given, and Anchor Team used their jetpacks to escape the ensuing blast. He and Anchor Team would later witness a small fleet of UNSC ships attempt to make the attacking Covenant fleet flee from the world, only for the ships to be absolutely crushed by the Covenant's superior ships and weaponry.

Battle of Earth (2552)

Jay and the rest of Anchor Team would fight in the battle as a very minor role, mainly fighting on the front lines, and I425 ended up taking a Falcon to provide air support. Jay ended up getting shot down and could've died, if it weren't for his MJOLNIR. He would go unconscious for an hour and a half, until a group of Marines found him and woke him up.

After this, he and a platoon of Marines took down an enemy Scarab to give civilians time to evacuate, thanks to Jox Regdinal ramming the machine with a Scorpion tank, allowing Jay the chance to hop on.

JSMmombasa

Jay, Jayne, Kal, and Adam were finally given the orders to pull out, and they did after seeing the New Mombasa Slipspace Event occur. Even so, they would participate in many other campaigns during the Battle of Earth.

During the Battle of Earth, Jay and Anchor Team was sent on a mission to eliminate the Covenant holdout located in Eastern Russia, in the city of New Stalingrad. This mission, known as Operation:WINTER DESERT, would go on for weeks, even with the Spartan assistance. During the fighting, Anchor Team struck several important targets, including a Covenant mining station, several armories containing both Covenant and Forunner weaponry, and finally killed the leading Jiralhanae known as Kalakgraul.

Afterwards, after Operation WINTER DESERT was finished, Anchor Team and an assortment of ODSTs was sent to central New Tokyo, which was under assault from a single CCS-class battlecruiser. The goal of the attack was to carry a small pair of FENRIS warheads, one to the bridge of the vessel, and one to the engines of the battlecruiser, and thus disable the vessel. Fighting their way through the Covenant troops, Anchor Team managed to utilize the ship's gravity lift and board the ship. Splitting up into teams of two, Jay and Adam went for the engines, fighting through more Unggoy and Kig-Yar troops. Injured, Jay volunteered to defend the engine room while Adam set the warhead in place. As Jayne and Kal's warhead went off, the battlecruiser began to tip downwards, and the two began to run for it as the warhead's timer counted down. Managing to escape, the ships engines exploded and the battlecruiser began to fall to the ground.

Anchor Team managed to all take control of an empty Warthog and escape as the CCS-class exploded and laid waste to hundreds of buildings and structures in the city. Afterwards, ONI did it's best to cover up the event and did so to the point that the destruction was caused not by the Spartans, but by the Covenant purposefully crushing the city under it as a suicide attack.

Post-War

The Insurrection (2552-2554)

Jay's missions against the insurrection were highly secretive and proved to at least be somewhat effective against the rebels.

The first operation where he fought the insurrection was Operation: ALLOY.

In 2553, Jay and Anchor Team were deployed on Sheildum to find and eliminate an Insurrectionist hideout, where a large group of rebels were hiding out. Anchor Team was deployed by Pelican, and had jumped out from the ship midair. Jay managed to land nearby the base and quickly took out those who saw him. Jay got inside and found the rebels armory, and to his delight, he found a crudely-built bomb. Jay broke radio silence and contacted Anchor Team. The rest of his team quickly got to the armory and defended Jay as he prepared to activate the device. Jay managed to detonate the bomb, although he was injured in the shoulder. As the bomb obliterated the rebel base, he and his team escaped and watched from afar.

Later on that year, Anchor Team was separated temporarily for different solo missions. Jay would be sent to neutralize a rebel leader by the name of Therus Dark, a Spartan-IV gone rogue. This "Lone Wolf" mission was Jay's last mission alone, and he was not completely used to it. Jay managed to infiltrate the base that Therus was in and managed to quietly take out the leader by killing Therus in his sleep, where Jay left the base unnoticed. However, after the rebels saw that their leader had been killed, they raised the alarm and found Jay, who quickly defeated those who attempted to spot him and got out unharmed. This was his last mission wearing his Mark-V MJOLNIR.

The Spartan-IV Program (2554)

In 2554, Jay was recruited to join the Spartan-IV Program as a result of his assassination of Therus Dark. He went through the training, and skipped the augmentation process, due to already being augmented in his early stages of being a Spartan-III. He received his Generation Two armor, and albeit not initially liking the set, he eventually grew to appreciate it. During the training, he grew a somewhat bias against the Spartan-IVs, whom he considered arrogant, stuck-up, and reckless.

During his training of becoming a Spartan-IV, Jay and Anchor Team were assigned to a game of Oddball with GAUNTLET Team in the War Games simulation. Jay would manage to grab the ball and began running. However, he was confronted by Tyler-A319, whom quickly had thrown his weapon aside. Tyler would lunge at Jay, tackling him, but Jay managed to push Tyler off of him. Jay's opponent would get up and kick Jay in the chest, knocking him into a crate. Jay managed to land a punch on Tyler's helmet, and I425 also managed to kick the other Spartan in the chest. Tyler would quickly regain his ground and managed to hit Jay's visor, cracking it. Jay, somewhat angry, tackled Tyler and began hitting Tyler in the visor. Tyler would quickly shove Jay off, and both Spartans seemed to attempt that they were going to tackle each other, but the simulation ended soon afterwards.

The Second Battle of Requiem (2558)

Jay, like many other SPARTAN's, was trapped on Requiem. Jay led Anchor Team and a small group of ODSTs to attack a small Covenant patrol and scout out a Storm Covenant outpost. Jay immediately had Kal, Jayne, and four marines act as a diversion to draw the Covenant's fire, while Jay, Adam, and the rest of the Marines would sneakily break into the base and take out the defenses there. Jay would build an explosive out of Covenant technology and begin a countdown sequence. After the marines were taken out by additional reinforcements, Jay and Adam would escape as the base was blown to bits.

The Raid (2558)

In 2558, the Spartan's Prayer and the Gladiator's Sun were attacked by a small group of Covenant remnant's who called themselves, "The Prophet's Vengeance". Jay had been sent to eliminate the leader of the newly formed Covenant, an Elite by the name of Hral Torumai. Jay managed to do this when Hral decided to fight off Jay in a duel of energy swords. Jay studied Hral's actions and managed to dodge the Sangheili's attacks, until Jay managed to stab Torumai in the back with an energy sword and kill him.

The Spartan's Prayer (2558)

Main article: The Spartan's Prayer

When the UNSC Spartan's Prayer was attacked by the Banished, Jay managed to fend off as many as he could, and he managed to get to the bridge and defend it. However, the Captain of the ship brought a gun to his own head and killed himself, rendering the point of defending the bridge almost useless. The ship would immediately enter slipspace and appeared above an uncharted planet, at the edge of the Orion Arm itself. They attempted to make contact with the UNSC, however all frequencies were apparently being blocked, and they could tell that it was being jammed from the surface. Managing to defeat the Banished raiding party, Anchor Team managed to get to the surface through drop pods. Once getting to the ground, the group began following the source of the jamming signal. However, instead of finding some form of jamming generator, they found a Forerunner temple, which Anchor Team began exploring. They continued to follow the signal and found the source of it, where they would suddenly be ambushed by Prometheans. After fending the Prometheans off with no injury, the group managed to destroy the source and make contact with the UNSC Under Summer's Gaze.

The Insurrection of Beta Hydri VI (2558)

After Jay evacuated the world, along with the UNSC Under Summer's Gaze, he began suspecting that something was wrong with the ship's crew. He began looking around and found that an Insurrectionist group infiltrated the ship and began to wreck havoc. They managed to hijack the ship, however, Jay and Kal managed to shut the operation down, with Jay making the decision to throw the group out of the airlock. After going through with the decision, actually throwing them out the airlock, they re-took the ship. They managed to make a slip-space jump to Beta Hydri VI, where they made a rendezvous with Spartan-I303. After this, they attempted to contact Earth, however, they didn't realize that Earth had been taken by the Created twenty-four hours before they had arrived at the planet.

Jay later participated in a battle against the local insurrection, resulting in many deaths from both sides, however, failing to defeat the innies and being forced to regroup. He later managed to hunt down the leader and neutralize him.

Installation 02 (2558)

After the insurrection on Beta Hydri VI was defeated, he decided to investigate Installation 02, due to wanting to find a specific type of artifact. However, the Under Summer's Gaze was disabled by a Guardian. Later, in the aftermath of the crash, Adam, Jayne, Kal, and Jay found an abandoned UNSC ship. The group would go inside, where a group of rebels would ambush them. However, Jay and Anchor Team quickly beat the rebels and asked them why they were at the Installation. The rebels explained that they had barely escaped from Earth after it was conquered by the Created, and had found refuge on the Installation. However, the rebels all tackled Jay at the same time, all of whom Jay threw off of him. Jay, angry, began beating one of the rebels to death, simply pushing the rebels away if they tried stopping him. After he was sure that the rebel was dead, Jay began to continue engaging the insurgent's comrades.

The Library and the Corvette (2558)

Jay, like every other Spartan on any Halo installation, had to go through the task of making sure the enemy didn't find the Index. Jay ended up detonating explosives to block the doors to the room the Index was kept, and this actually almost worked, however, a Promethean Knight managed to cut through the rubble with its sword, allowing the Created to take control of the Index. After this, they discovered that there was a UNSC ship that had crashed on the Installation, that was somehow operational. Anchor team attempted to clear out as many Created forces from the Installation and took the ship, managing to get the ship's slipspace drive up-and-running. However, the Guardian was spotted for a brief second releasing another shockwave, before the ship went into Slipspace. Jay later made a vow to not return to Earth until he received word of the defeat of the Created, which he did not receive for a very, very long time.

Neos Atlantis (2559)

After they had finished the task of escaping from Installation 02, Anchor Team had managed to get the ship running and they made a slipspace jump to Neos Atlantis. Right away they informed the UNSC of who they were. The UNSC forces there, skeptical, couldn't take them in, due to the orbital maintenence docks only serving much newer UNSC military vessels, however, they gave the ship temporary security clearance and told the team they could stay for one-hundred and sixty-eight hours, until they would have to leave on the UNSC Halo's Shadow, where they would later depart from. However, forty-eight hours into their stay, they were attacked by mercenaries who worked for Dark Moon Enterprises, hoping to capture the Spartans and study their MJOLNIR armor. Jay was one of the first to be attacked by the mercenaries. During the fight, Jay would be snuck up on and the mercenary would attempt to tackle him. Jay would grab the mercenary, and throw him into the wall. Another mercenary would attack Jay, but the Spartan would grab the man by the neck and pulverize him. The last mercenary would run at him, and Jay would throw the mercenary that he had already been holding at the last man. The last man would get up and try to attack Jay again, but the Spartan would pull out his M6 and shoot the man through the head. After making contact with his team, who all reported similar incidents, Jay would begin to sprint back to the ship, and he would board it, where later the ship would depart to Harvest.

Harvest (2559)

When Anchor Team made it to Harvest, the ship landed on the planet and Jay immediately noticed that many of the soldiers there had low morale, due to news of another Insurrection. This annoyed Jay to the point of anger, and he immediately volunteered Anchor Team to take on the rebels. However, they were quickly attacked by insurrectionist forces, and Jay was injured by a sniper round. However, a Guardian seemingly seemed to come out of nowhere, and, releasing a large shockwave, began to cause mass destruction among the planet's surface. Panicking, Jay and Anchor Team managed to board a Pelican and exit the planet's atmosphere. The shockwave, however, managed to severely one of the Pelican's maneuvering thrusters, sending it into a spin and sending them into deep space.

Adrift (2559-2562)

After escaping the vicinity of the destruction, the ship's fuel tank ran out. Jay stayed silent for most of the conversation, however, Kal pointed out that there were four cryotubes in the pelican, and that none of the others in the team didn't know this. Jay said that it was a little too convienant for the group, but he agreed to the plan, putting his AI, Maria, into the pelican itself, so if an anomaly came up, she could wake them. As the Pelican was sent adrift, Maria attached it to a rogue asteroid, which would somehow find it's way into slipstream space and exit above Earth.

Waking up (2562)

Jay and the rest of his team were woken up three years later, where things were already different; the Spartan-IVs had been killed at a massive rate, and many of the Spartan-IIs and IIIs had gone into hiding. Despite being somewhat disoriented, Jay and the rest of Anchor Team had somehow drifted over to Earth, where they saw the destruction that the Created had caused, with many wrecked and destroyed UNSC ships that had been disabled by the Guardian's EMP. Maria opened the door of the pelican, and Anchor Team was sucked into the vacuum of space, where they managed to get inside a wrecked Epoch-class heavy carrier. Jay was actually surprised that there were no hostile forces nearby, and he suspected that the created had been defeated. But what also surprised him was that there were no bodies on the ship, despite the fact that there was no gravity onboard, and that the other half of the ship was missing. Finally, they managed to get to the bridge, where they saw thousands upon thousands of wrecked UNSC and Covenant ships. However, Jay noticed that there were four intact UNSC ships that seemed to be flying, and he managed to make contact with the ships. The ships let Anchor Team in and let them back into Earth's atmosphere.

Maria's Rampancy (2562)

Jay and Anchor Team returned to the pelican a few hours before they reached Earth's atmosphere, and attempted to recollect Maria. Disturbingly enough, signs of rampancy were showing, and it seemed to Jay that they should at least leave his AI in the pelican. However, the rest of the team had grown fond of the AI, and Adam suggested a risky alternative; the Domain. Jay asked Adam how he heard about it, and Adam said he read it in a terminal on Installation 02. Jay, still skeptical, agreed to do it, and he asked Adam where it was. Adam, however, appeared to not know, and this complicated things.

Survivors (2562)

The group finally landed on the surface of Earth. When they did, they discovered that the UNSC, in fact, still had a military presence on Earth, and they were rebuilding somewhat, with the rest of the UNSC heading towards Earth. However, they were dealing with Insurrectionist forces much more frequently, and it seemed that the team was dealing with the insurrection more and more as the Crisis began to end. Jay and the rest of Anchor Team were sent on a mission to eliminate an Insurrectionist base, and recover a stolen slipspace drive they had managed to obtain from a top-secret ONI facility.

Sacrifice (2562)

Jay and the rest of Anchor Team were sent on a mission to recover a stolen slipspace drive from Insurrectionist forces. ONI feared that the rebels were planning on using the drive as a slipspace bomb, and rightfully so; the insurgency's attempts to land a crippling blow to the UNSC had become increasingly more and more desperate. Anchor Team managed to find out that the drive was weaponized, and almost recovered it, however the team was overwhelmed by Insurrectionist forces and Jay decided to stay behind while the rest of Anchor Team escaped. After receiving various injuries, being shot in the leg multiple times, as well as being injured heavily by a grenade, Jay finally activated it and was sent into oblivion. Slipspace monitoring stations managed to detect the blast and the trajectory of the journey, and it was later believed to have sent him and the remains of the blast to somewhere in the Perseus Arm. This theory could be supported by the fact that early scans of the drive showed that it was a reverse-engineering of a Forunner slipspace drive, and that no remains of the slipspace bomb- or the base- remain.

Recovery (2562)

Later, his body would be recovered by the advanced covenant corvette, the Devastation of Betrayal, where Jay would be revived for interrogation. During his imprisonment by a clan of brutes, Jay was beaten mercilessly, nearly breaking his augmented his bones and scarring him horribly. By the time Fireteam Tigrus's ship, the Sanctification of Pain had intercepted the covenant corvette, Jay had lost the use of his lower left arm, his left eye, and had several hundred bones cracked from the beatings. When Abbad Reiken had broken him out of his bindings after the boarding action had killed the xeno crew, Jay had attacked him thinking that the Spartan IV was another brute coming to finally finish him off. However, without his armor, Jay didn't stand a chance, and Abbad managed to knock Jay out in a single blow.

When Jay was brought aboard the Pain, Abbad and Hannah-119 had managed to bring Jay's old armor aboard. When Jay awoke again, he was still incredibly confused, although he was surprised to have been hooked up to various medical equipment that had restored some of his use of his left arm and had halfway healed one of his broken bones. Upon being questioned by Spartan-IV Darmen Gald of Fireteam Violent, Jay realized that he had been launched into a completely different part of the galaxy, and that his sacrifice for his team probably had been for nothing.

Aboard the Pain (2562-2563)

Up to the next year, Jay would remain a member of the crew of the forerunner vessel, where he would gain a knack for fire control, often testing this new skill out on approaching asteroids. Because of no longer really participating in ground combat for this time, Jay wouldn't don his armor for quite a while. For this year, the group would remain in relative peace, up until a Gods of Orion fleet would come out of slipspace to recapture the Pain. During the battle, the Pain would have her engines critically damaged, and Covenant forces would walk the hallways of the ship for the first time in nearly six years. Jay, in his MJOLNIR once again, would help defend the shuttles of the ship alongside Abbad and Hannah, while the other Spartans would escape and jump back to the Orion Arm. During the fight, Jay would sustain heavy, if not brutal damage from a hunter cannon, breaking his shields and taking off his entire arm. Fortunately, though, Abbad would drag Jay into the last shuttle, force Hannah-119 inside, and launch it, leaving the Spartan-IV behind on the ship, which would later be engulfed in nuclear fire.

Return to Orion (2563)

After the shuttle snapped from slipstream space above Earth, Jay and Hannah's ship was captured by an ONI prowler, where I425 would be brought to Midnight Facility for questioning- and also torture. Jay realized that while he had been gone, ONI had marked him AWOL when they had managed to track his Gen-2 MJOLNIR and find that his vitals were still active. Jay was subjected to torture even more inhumane than that of the brutes, bringing him to near death. ONI later released him for unknown reasons, with a newly regrown arm but with even more scars than he had ever gotten in combat. When he was released, ONI informed him that his entire team had been killed right after he had detonated the slipspace bomb (although this wouldn't be true for some time).

Operation: ABOMINATION (2564)

Before Jay's deployment into Operation: ABOMINATION, the Spartan-III would be outfitted with a new suit of MJOLNIR Generation 2.1 power armor and would have his identity quietly changed to that of Anwar Helius, a Spartan-IV who went missing during the Created Conflict. Jay would be stationed aboard the UNSC frigate the Apparent Vagueness, which had taken the slipspace drive of Jay's ship and reverse-engineered it. It would accompany two other vessels; the UNSC Edge of the World -a Epoch-class heavy carrier- and the UNSC Ring of Life, a Strident-class. During Operation: ABOMINATION, the small fleet would jump to the Perseus Arm to engage the Gods of Orion, and while the battle in space would be commenced, Jay and many other ground troops of the UNSC would be deployed on one of the most habitable planets in this new system.

JSMPic08
Jay combats Covenant forces on the planet three days before his infection.

Surprisingly enough, Jay was one of the few Spartans (bar a few Spartan-IVs) in the entire wave of ground troops on the planet's surface. UNSC forces pushed through the Covenant defense towards a large, eldritch structure of presumed Forerunner origin. While no Prometheans were found on the site, a demonic plague was found- the Flood. Jay and his soldiers retreated, only to be overwhelmed by the flood forces, and finally, Jay would be killed and infected by the parasite after he was betrayed by a Spartan-IV who found out Jay was posing as Spartan Helius.

Personality & Traits

Personality

"In a war, you kill for the blood. You kill for the suffering. You kill to win."
―Jay explaining war to a civilian, in an admittedly brutal fashion.

As a child, he was often very protective of his family, and was seen as very strange by his classmates. Because of this, he was bullied until he joined Incognito Company. While he was being trained, he was even more protective of his sister, and he at first did not work well in a team. He ended up becoming the leader of the team after Shane-I430 was killed during the augmentation process. This put Jay in a position he was unsure of until he successfully led his team during several war game simulations. Jay, like many Spartans, was mildly sociopathic, not knowing what to do when someone is feeling emotion, and Jay fully embraced this, being increasingly negative and condescending to others. He was often seen as intense to many outside of his team, and in a way, this was true. Jay was largely quiet, often commanding his team through subtle hand gestures, however he would speak if he felt it was necessary, that, or to sometimes make the rare dry joke or two. Jay was resentful of the Covenant for killing him and Jaynes adoptive family, who were the only people that the twins had left after the death of their father and the arrest of their mother. To many Spartan-IVs he would end up working with, he would be mildly rude and unfriendly to them at first, and if he worked with them for enough time, he would show a begrudging respect for them. This was because he viewed them as stuck up and arrogant.

Accent

Jay spoke with an mild British accent, one that to some was very rough and maybe even a little condescending.

Mental Report

[REDACTED][2]: "With all do respect, sir, his mental state is on the brink. The shrinks are showing he has either mild to severe trauma from combat. And now he thinks his team is dead. There's the very likely chance that he'll-"
[REDACTED][3]: "He'll what? Defect? Look how this all started. He was sent to stop the insurrection. He defended an insurrectionist bomb so he could take their base out. And when it goes off, he gets sent to another fucking part of the galaxy. The brass wanted him sent to Midnight Facility because they thought he was a traitor. The man's far from that. Those aren't the actions of a traitor; those are the actions of a patriot."
―Two ONI officials arguing on sending I425 on the ill-fated Operation: ABOMINATION.

Jay's mental stability was somewhat difficult to follow. On occasions he has apparently shown that he has occasionally heard voices and seen things, occasionally saying that he is hearing numbers inside of his helmet, and that whenever he takes it off he stops hearing them. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Jay can be incredibly stable most of the time, and often shows some self-awareness towards the less stable side of him. While this had caused some concern for ONI and the UNSC, it for the most part was ignored.

Skills

Jay was trained in hand to hand combat and Demolitions, although the former skill would slowly fade. After he received his MJOLNIR Armor, he mainly focused on his skills with rifles and CQB, mostly only using demolitions in select cases. He was also highly skilled in knife combat. Jay's skills in demolition work became rustier and rustier the less he used it, although no known consequences have been discovered. Jay was also skilled in predicting hostile movements by studying what his enemies did. This included when he fought Hral Torumai, when he predicted the elites movements and managed to tackle him and slit his throat. With his increased reaction time, these skills were amplified greatly.

Augmentations

Jay was one of the few in Project:INCOGNITO who was on-par with the Spartan-IIs, and was one of the only one who truly benefitted from his CHRYSANTHEMUM Augmentations.

General Notes

Candidate A425 has failed the first test of Alpha Company, along with his sister, Candidate A428.

UPDATE - Transferring Candidate A425 to Project:INCOGNITO has begun.

UPDATE - Spartan-I425 was considered too valuable of an asset to be sent to his death, so he was removed from Spartan-III Incognito Company in 2551 and given augmentations that allowed him to used the Mark V MJLONIR armor, along with the rest of Anchor Team as well. Jay seems to have mental scars due to witnessing his mother's suicide. Jay also seems to have rage issues time-to-time.

Jay joined the Spartan-IV program in 2557 due to his performance on the field, and ever since then has managed to survive through many events, such as the Requiem Campaign, [Redacted], and [Redacted]. ONI seems eager to recruit Spartan-I425 into the [Redacted] program.

Performance & Equipment

Jay seems to enjoy combat, performing decently[4] during the simulations. He seems to prefer the MA5D over other weapons, strangely. Prior to his preference of the MA5D, he largely used the MA37 ICWS in combat.

UPDATE - Spartan Jay-I425 has gone MIA once again, for the second time. Last known location was Harvest. May be a possible spy for the Insurrection.

Service History

Spartan-I425 has performed well on Persia IX, however, the severe damage to his SPI armor is unacceptable.

UPDATE - ONI was correct on I425's lethality. While the Fall of Reach was preventable (With this not helping Jay's record), he has proved his loyalty time and time again ever since Reach fell. Waiting for further results.

UPDATE - Spartan-I425's lethality against the insurgency seems to have gone up over this past year. ONI is considering recruiting him into the Spartan-IV Program.

[Redacted]

Special Notice[s] and Status

Spartan-I425 has mental scars due to watching his mother commit suicide, and seems overprotective of his twin sister, Jayne-I428. As previously stated, may have anger issues.

UPDATE - Spartan Jay-I425 has been reported KIA, until further notice, "sacrificing" himself for the mission. All that is known of his death is that he manually detonated a slipspace bomb on [Redacted] and defending it, all to take out the Insurrectionist troops. Further research speculates that the slipspace drive sent the remains to the Perseus Arm. Now listing him as MIA to comply with ONI Directive Nine-Three-Zero.

UPDATE: - Spartan-I425 has returned in an advanced forerunner shuttle built in the shape of a Covenant Phantom. ONI section III just marked him AWOL, and I'm being sent to bring him to Midnight Facility, for what they say is interrogation.

UPDATE: - I425 was sent for Operation: ABOMINATION on January 19th. We detected him and multiple forces retreating from their objective, a forerunner structure. We lost contact almost five minutes later. Our later probes detected hundreds of flood-infected soldiers, and consistent scans for Generation 2.1 MJOLNIR show that he is one of the infected. Worse, we just got a report that the UNSC Ring of Life was infected and managed to carry the parasite onto the other two in it's task force. Our expansion into the Perseus Arm was ill-advised.

JSMReach2
2551-2557
The Mark-V MJOLNIR was Jay's first set, and he prized it greatly, being tempted to refuse trading it off with the Generation Two MJOLNIR. Occasionally, he swapped out his shoulder plating for certain missions, sometimes for seemingly no reason.
Generation Two MJOLNIR
JSMPic6
2557-2562
Jay initially despised the Generation Two MJOLNIR, due to thinking it represented the arrogance he hated in the Spartan-IVs. However, he began to love the armor after it saved his life multiple times.
Generation 2.1 MJOLNIR
JSMPic06
2564
After returning to the Orion Arm, Jay was given the Generation 2.1 by ONI for Operation: ABOMINATION and possible further missions. Jay thought that the suit was not too dissimilar to the Generation-2 MJOLNIR, but appreciated the advancements in the armor's technology. However, the armor would be hijacked by the flood after Jay was infected.

Trivia
