Halo: Spartan Offensive an isometric ("top-down") shooter video game and follow-up to Halo: Spartan Assault and Halo: Spartan Strike, developed by Vanguard Games in collaboration with 343 Industries. Published by Xbox Game Studios, the game is to be released on Steam, Xbox One, Windows 10, and mobile devices.
Like previous entries in the Spartan series, Spartan Offensive's narrative uses a UNSC tactical simulator for the setting; played on an in-universe datapad or chatter device. Played by newly-minted Spartan Branch recruits, the game provides an avenue for training, familiarization, and productivity through simulated recreations of renowned Spartan missions through and after the Human-Covenant War.
New modes and activities also come with Spartan Offensive, including a multiplayer mode and a return to cooperative play. A particular selling point of the new game entry is the introduction of Spartan team personalization and gameplay elements inspired by roleplaying and turn-based strategy games.
As of current, the game has no set release date and remains without a game rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board. Some fans suggest it's in development hell, never to release.
