The Gaia-class Colony Platform is a class of UNSC space station. It is used as an orbital space colony, in many cases as an outpost or refugee camp.
Description
The Gaia-class Colony platform is a much less combat orientated station, compared to others. The station, at its core, consists of a large disc and a central 'spire' containing the station's power systems and command and control network. From then on, the rest of the station is À la carte. Prefabricated buildings, usually from multiple construction companies, can be used in a 'plug in' fashion, on both the top and bottom of the disk, which can then be linked through tram systems in the disk and tram systems across the buildings, creating a small colony in space.
Gaia-class stations are used by both the UNSC and UEG for various functions, such as pre-colonisation jump-off points, military schools or training academies, corporation owned production centres, headquarters, etc.
The armament level of these stations varies from civilian to military usage, from just point defence LASERs, to close-in weapon systems, to anti-ship turrets and Archer pods.
