The Frieden Kriegsmarine (Peace Navy) was the primary space combat arm of the Friedensbewegung from 2156 to 2170.

Ships

The Frieden Kriegsmarine built and commissioned more than a hundred warships in its fourteen year existence; the vast majority of these were destroyers, though the Kriegsmarine maintained its share of cruisers and even battleships.

Cruisers

Following the development of the Expeditious by the United Nations Space Authority, the Frieden Kriegsmarine began designing their own cruiser types; much like their destroyers, Kriegsmarine cruisers were heavily influenced by what information could be obtained about UN cruisers in production. The initial result was the Sturm-class, a class of three cruiser very similar to the UNSC Expeditious in terms of size and armament, though they did not enter service until well after the debut of the rest of the Expeditious cruisers. Despite the delay, two additional cruiser classes were already under construction: the four light cruisers of the Zyklon-class and the two heavy cruisers of the Gewitter-class. A pattern emerged, as the Frieden Kriegsmarine subsequently developed its cruisers as either light cruisers or heavy cruisers. The Zylkon and Gewitter classes were followed by the Jäger-class and Zitadelle-class, respectively.

Kriegsmarine cruisers acquired and maintained a reputation for combat prowess, dependability, impressive maneuverability, and rapid acceleration, and achieved greater notoriety than any other Frieden ship type.
