Fireteam Whiskey was a team of SPARTAN-IV supersoldiers operating under the Spartan branch. Initially formed in late 2555 as a two-man Headhunter unit, Whiskey later gained more recruits and spent time aboard the UNSC Icarus as it patrolled the Outer Colonies. By 2558, Whiskey had gained a reputation for its efficiency in clearing out dissident groups and preventing terrorist attacks on multiple occasions, and were among the the first Spartan teams assigned to the newly-constructed Denegroth Station on Europa.

As the Created Uprising began later that year, Fireteam Whiskey were responsible for leading hundreds of survivors to Concord following the disastrous Battle of Europa, and would help to establish a temporary headquarters for UNSC personnel there as their allies regrouped. Whiskey would continue to operate covertly against the Created for many months afterwards, soon becoming one of the more prominent Spartan teams in their resistance force.
