Brimstone Team, more formally styled as BRIMSTONE Team and sometimes referred to simply as Brimstone, is a 6-spartan team attached to the UNSC's Unified Special Warfare Command, with its members being dubbed as Category-II's, informally known as 'Cat-II's', under the leadership of the veteran team leader, Ayrton-A384.

Brimstone Team would serve in countless battles after 2547 including the Battle of Reach where they would be the only team to escape the planet, at the cost of Beth-A173. After which, Brimstone would continue operations for the rest of the war, integrating the sole survivor of Jericho Team, Dylan-B224 as a replacement to Beth, participating in the Sol Campaign, along with the Spartan-II programs Green Team and Gamma Company's Team Hatchet losing Mason-B219 during these time.

Following the end of the war, Brimstone would continue operations after the further integration of the remaining members of Team Hatchet. As of 2560 they are engaged in operations against Cortana's Created and elements of the group, known collectively as the Banished.

Formation[]

Following losses incurred during the Battle of Saint-Denis, Naval Special Weapons decided to disband all remaining Cat-II Commando teams of both Alpha and Beta companies, in order to merge the highly experienced but dwindling Commandos of Alpha Company with their more numerous but lesser experienced Beta Company contemporaries. Brimstone Team was created through the amalgamation of members of Alpha Company's Team Grizzly, and Beta Company's Team's Victor and Gustav.

Unlike the other newly formed cross-company Cat-II teams, Brimstone's formation was clouded in controversy. This was primarily due to an incident in the aftermath of the Battle of Saint-Denis where a fight had broken out between the team leader of Grizzly Team, Ayrton-A384 and fellow Alpha Thom-A293 which left the latter requiring his jaw to be wired shut, due to Thom accidentally injuring Beth-A173 after she attempted to diffuse an altercation between the pair. Despite this incident, which was seen by some as being due to a 'failure in leadership', Ayrton retained his role as a team leader in the new merged teams, abet having been effectively demoted from the position of senior command.
