The Colonial Guard is the military composant that replaced the militia after the human covenant war. Unlike it predecessor, the Colonial Guard is a full time reserve of the UNSC and is fully equipped to take engagement against an enemy. The equipment used by the CG is about the same as the other branch of the UNSC. Has per the constitution of 2575 all valid person must do a complete 2 years tour of duty in the CG or in any other branch of the UNSC. The CG is publicly funded by the colonies and in return the colonies as the colonies as the command of it CG complement. However it is not the case in war time when it fall under the command of the unsc.

The equipment used by the colonial guard are military grade and updated version of older unsc equip^ment such as the MA5C and MA5D. while those weapons were under use by the time of the Human Covenant War the upgrade added to the weapon extend greatly the reliability of those weapon will making them compatible to UNSC munition and current standard. Mechanized equipment include D77H-TCI Pelican, M808C Scorpion, M145D Rhino, M510 Mammoth and many other. Those equipment now include deflector shield and updated armament to fit the UNSC standard. As for the Air/Space asset the fighters used are shared with the UNSC Navy and Air force. As force the combat uniforms it is shared with the Army.
Force deployment[]
Unlike any other organisation of the UNSC the Colonial Guard is not carried around like the UNSC Marines Corps or the Army. Instead the Colonial Guard is composed of member of the colony it is protecting making the organisation very heterogeneous. While it faced the criticism from a lot of official and officer within the other UNSCDF's branch. The Colonial Guard pointed out that allow a better coordination during large scale operation as well as more personal feeling toward their respective colony.
