2356148-CovenantAlloy

Covenant Plating composed of the Veradnium Alloy

Used by the Covenant for numerous purposes for millennia, this alloy was what composed the majority of Covenant armor.

History[]

Used by the San'Shyuum since before the First age of Conflict, and by the whole of the Covenant empire after, this alloy saw innumerable millennia of active use for Covenant ship and vehicle use, it was able to withstand a bombardment of the UNSC's primitive Archer missiles much better than the UNSC titanium battle-plating but was still susceptible to plasma and heavy energy weapons. Two decades after the end of the Great War, the Sangheili allied with the humans, teaching them what the alloy was with the help of numerous Huragok, and thus gave them limited manufacturing capabilities of Veradnium, which they mainly used on orbital weapons platforms and for improved structural support in ships until they were able to push it into mass-production in 2784.

Timeline[]

2476 BCE- Conception of Veradnium after the discovery of Forerunner artifacts and alloys in the series of outposts on the Planet Gaea.

2342 BCE- Numerous improvements are made to the wondrous material, bringing it to nearly four times the strength of the UNSC battle-plating before the war.

2297 BCE- Veradnium is incorporated into the armor of ground vehicles and structures, increasing the defensibility of ground forward bases.

2256 BCE- Mass production and weaponization of this material begins as conflict within the San'Shyuum ranks begins to escalate, leading to their ships becoming increasingly formidable.

2200 BCE- Civil war breaks out causing many records and research on Veradnium to be lost, stalling progress on its' development for centuries.

1489 BCE- The San'Shyuum begin delving into advanced alloy-strengthening technology and segmentation, increasing the ablative effects of the material.

842 BCE- 764 BCE- Lekgolo are incorporated into the covenant, and materials found on the home-world of the Lekgolo, Te, causes a major increase in the durability of Veradnium alloys, bringing it to fifty percent of what its' strength would be during the Human-Covenant war.

1763- The combined efforts of the San'Shyuum, Sangheili, and the other races of the covenant cause miraculous growth in the development and production methods of Veradnium, doubling the strength of the alloy, bringing it to the strength that the Human race is witness to, and decreasing its' production cost. No improvements are made in the alloy for nearly a millennium after this, the Covenant falling into an age of technological sterility.

2630- The populations of the Covenant races that did not remain loyal to the prophets join with the UHST, bringing in a new era of advancement and prosperity to the technology of Veradnium and many other technologies due to no longer being stifled by the lies of the Prophets.
