"Well, what did you expect me to say? 'Have a nice trip?'"
―Captain Lane during debrief following a duel with an insurrectionist carrier.

The Farragut-class battlecruiser is a capital warship classification among human defense fleets and insurrectionist navies. While significantly longer than most other cruiser classes, the Farragut is often outperformed by the Valiant- and Marathon- classes and as such was never permanently adopted into the UNSC Navy. It often serves a command position in battle-groups and doubles as a small carrier, making it ideal for smaller forces incapable of fielding numerous types of warships for various specialized situations.
