Human-Covenant War

"Your patience will be rewarded, brother. After all, if they did not believe in your abilities, you would not be granted a posting aboard even a light command ship."
―Obedientary Orin 'Yundamee.

The Daxoi-pattern carrier, designated as the DRS-class patrol carrier, is a medium-tonnage carrier utilised by the Covenant Empire during the Human-Covenant War. One of the most common ships of its class in the fleet, it is classified by the United Nations Space Command as an escort or patrol carrier based on their observations of its deployment.

The Daxoi-pattern is an older style of warship that still meets the standard that all carriers must achieve. Built with a reinforced prow shell and very strong shields, it can tank enough fire from much larger cruisers to remain competitive in a brawl. The prow section is mostly hollow, with a long flat hangar taking up most of the room that has entryways on both its side and on its keel. The only part not covered by a thick plate of armour is its unique engine configuration, which utilises an unconventional impulse drive system to allow it to reach high speeds to intercept targets. While its design is not optimised towards carrying heavy armaments, an impressive number of plasma torpedo silos are installed to obliterate what its light defensive turrets cannot contend with.
