Cosmo Hampton (service number 50103-26817-CH) was a Brigadier General and controversial figure in the UNSC Army for his tactics and tendency to be heavy-handed with rogue colony worlds. Hampton's career would eventually culminate as he became the CINCMEND (Commander in Chief of Mendel Armed Forces) and military governor of Mendel where he would use unorthodox tactics to bring the United Workers Left of Mendel—the defacto administration of Mendel—to the bargaining table. These tactics were met with equal fortitude leading to the creation of the Mendel Green Zone and subsequent blockade of the planet via it's Orbital Tether.
Hampton would be tested, though, to his greatest military task when he became an inadvertent figure in Operation: SWEEP and the subsequent Battle for Mendel in 2546.
