The Armageddon Cannon was created for defense against large-scale invasions. The cannon is essentially a directed, smaller scale Halo, capable of killing every crew across an entire fleet. However, it requires massive amounts of power, needing six attached fusion cores and multiple ground stations in order to remain stable.

As firing the cannon would often endanger the lives of friendlies, it is only used in dire situations.
