"The crown jewel of the whole Covenant fleet, CSO-class supercarriers are much capable variation of the CAS, though those massive vessels are rare. A supercarrier alone can lay siege to an entire planet and quarantine it in less than ten cycles."
―A scholar, teaching about the CSO at the Covenant War Academy on High Charity.

The Nuvaar-pattern supercarrier, designated the CSO-class supercarrier, is the largest capital ship that was developed by the defunct Covenant Empire.

Cauteriser-pattern

Manufactured locally on Doisac, this warship is instantly recognisable as a pattern of the CSO-class. The Cauteriser-pattern supercarrier is a more rugged ship, focusing on heavy armor and firepower over mobility. It has much of the same weapons as the Nuvaar, but is significantly weaker. The sole Cauteriser-pattern supercarrier is the Lydus Hand, which was built over several years until 2557 using smuggled Covenant technology to produce a CSO-like ship based on the Medural-pattern and the later Conqueror-pattern assault carrier
