The Atlas-class Cargo Ship is used for transporting standardized cargo pods across systems. These standardized cargo pods can be carried by trucks, MagLev trains and orbital elevators and in orbit are moved over to the ship via its docking ports. These pods are fitted in large internal bays with an internal crane system to move these cargo pods on and off, with digital tracking for the contents and type. The Atlas dwarfs smaller cargo ships used in previous years and can safely transport hundreds of thousands of tons of cargo across systems. While largely automated, it does require a small crew of care takers. The Atlas has limited point defence capability, and very rarely flies unescorted. The ship has six docking ports linked to internal conveyor systems, allowing it to transport cargo pods between it and its home destination easily.
