Allison Lloyd (service number 55465-80681-AL) is a former Hospital Corpsman, attached to the Orbital Drop Shock Trooper fireteam, Wolf. She would continue to serve in this position even after the Human-Covenant War's conclusion, and well into the Created Conflict and Battle of Zeta Halo.
As a child lost in the Chicago Industrial Zone's foster care system, Allison was forced to grow up fast after her father passed away and her mother lost custody of her two children, leaving the young girl to raise her little brother in her parents' stead. Intelligent, committed, and unreadable, much of Allison's life remains a mystery even to her ODST team mates, knowing the woman only as Wolf's corpsman with a talent for cracking all manner of encryptions, alien or otherwise.
Biography
Early Life
The older of Celina and Bear Lloyd's two children, Allison exhibited asocial tendencies from a young age, but also remarkable intelligence. She had a particular habit of taking apart just about anything she could get her hands in order to deepen her understanding, be it toys, kitchen appliances, or her mother's comm pad.
The couple were uncertain on how to raise a gifted child like Allison, and Bear's frequent absence as an ODST only placed further difficulties on Celina. Especially when in 2527, Allison's brother, Malcolm, was born.
While Celina chose to ignore her daughter's peculiarities and treat her as she would any other child, Bear spoke to young Allison as a peer on the occasion that he was home for leave. They would talk well into the night, debating about various contentious subjects, or simply musing about life.
With Allison the way she was, she had few friends growing up, save for her father.
In 2530, the Lloyd household was visited by a man in uniform and were gifted with a folded flag bearing the UNSC eagle and globe. Along with the news that Bear Lloyd had been killed in action during the Covenant invasion of Eridanus II. Bear's death left Celina devastated, and an unfortunate incident later that year left Allison and Malcom in the custody of Chicago's foster system.
After years of being shuffled around various foster homes, Allison and Malcolm had become the only constant in each other's lives, and the young Allison was more or less left to raise her younger brother herself. It had been her wish to adopt Malcolm and become his legal guardian herself when Allison came of age, but in the Sol System, it became law that any 18 year old seeking to be released from foster care had to carry out a mandatory minimum of two years in the military. Two years that would leave Malcolm all alone.
When she was still 17, Allison was approached by another man in uniform, and given a certain offer. Despite her original plan to enlist in the Marines, like her father, Allison joined the Navy instead.
Early Service
There are few records detailing Allison's service during the period between 2539 and 2542. Malcolm Lloyd, however, had seemingly been removed from the foster system, and situated in one-room apartment near his local high school, with Allison recognized as his legal guardian, even before she had completed her mandatory two years.
And yet, sometime in 2542, Malcolm found himself evicted from his apartment, and Allison had chosen to continue her service in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman assigned to frontline Marine units. Whatever offer Allison had agreed to had evidently fell through, and now it would appear that she was to repeat her mandatory two years in a more conventional context. Before she would finish her service, however, Malcolm would similarly be forced into active duty, as part of a rarely evoked draft order.
Whoever she had pissed off, it would seem, was determined to punish the young woman.
Late War
By 2544, Allison Lloyd was attached to the 14th Shock Troops Battalion, as part of Fireteam Wolf. At the time, Wolf consisted of herself, Staff Sergeant Michael Harris, Private First Class Aron Szurke, and Lance Corporal Chad Burns. Szurke and Burns would be declared KIA in 2545, and replaced by Jerome Brandt and Davien Calson. In 2547, Harris would perish as well during the Battle of Skopje, and replaced by Staff Sergeant Scott Edwards.
While Brandt met the new Staff Sergeant with open arms, and Calson with open derision, Lloyd fell somewhere in-between. More ambivalent to the man, than anything. She, perhaps more than anyone besides Edwards himself, knew how just how fleeting the life of an ODST could be. However, like Calson, Lloyd's opinion of the man changed for the better following the Battle of Bounty. While Edwards could never hope to match Lloyd's affinity for numbers or the sciences, his emotional intelligence and creativity far outstripped her own. For the first time in her life, she was jealous.
Despite Lloyd's belief that she was not a true ODST herself, Edwards valued her experience and intelligence highly, making her his de facto second in command. Her knowledge of Covenant weaponry and security systems proved especially useful, which combined with the rest of Wolf's talents, made the small team of troopers far greater than the sum of their parts.
Lloyd remained in touch as often as possible with Malcom during this time, until the young man chose to apply for the ODSTs, just like his big sister and father. Lloyd was rarely quick to anger, but during this call, she erupted like never before. The exchange ended when Malcolm informed his sister that he was his own man, and cut the feed.
It would be years before Lloyd heard from her brother again.
Post-War
With her brother having no plans to leave the Marine Corps anytime soon, Lloyd similarly chose to remain with Fireteam Wolf following the Human-Covenant War's conclusion. In the years that followed, Fireteam Wolf was reassigned to NAVSPECWAR/Group Seven, and in this new, complicated landscape, undertook more politically sensitive operations than they had before. These often including assassinating rebel or Covenant Remnant leaders, recovering stolen UNSC contraband, or any other such operation designed to undermine would-be UNSC enemies before they gathered the strength to be a threat.
The greatest of these was Operation: ROYAL FLUSH, in which Wolf, alongside a dozen Spartans, carried out a covert campaign against the New Colonial Alliance on the independent human colony of Firenze. The ultimate prize being the capture or elimination of the NCA's second highest officer, Dmitri Cross, the self-proclaimed pirate king and arms runner, Red Tek, and the Jiralhanae leader of a Covenant Loyalist faction named Tyrus.
But before the operation achieved its objective, a Guardian rose from the surface of Firenze, and brought the world to heel, forcing Wolf and the rest of Group Seven to flee the system aboard their ship, the UNSC Molon Labe. For the next year, Fireteam Wolf and Group Seven would remain on the run from Cortana's Created forces.
Zeta Halo
Like the rest of her team, Lloyd escaped the Labe's destruction above Zeta Halo in a drop pod, but was separated from Wolf during the descent. At some point during the first two weeks following the battle, Lloyd was mortally wounded by Brutes from the clan of the Mourning-Star. Before she succumbed to her injuries, Lloyd escaped her pursuers by taking refuge inside a small room of Forerunner design.
Despite the impossibility of her survival, on January 1st, Lloyd appeared in the tunnels surrounding the base founded by fellow Labe survivors known as FOB Gator. She was said to be as pale as a sheet of paper and cold to the touch by the marines who found her, but alive. Staff Sergeant Edwards, who had only arrived at Gator a week prior, was able to identify her, as the corpsman had slipped into unconsciousness before she could be questioned.
While Lloyd had survived her initial brush with death, and clearly bore signs of having received partial medical aid from some unknown party, she was left in a very precarious situation. The next few days would determine if she lived or died.
Personality
While she may be cool under pressure, almost to a supernatural degree, Allison's detached demeanor and lack of filter has earned her few friends. Her peculiarities had always left her feeling like an outsider, a status she sometimes reinforces herself, like when she claims to be no true ODST like the rest of Wolf. Yet try as she might, there is no denying the deep bond she feels towards the other members of Wolf. And it goes without saying that despite whatever rift has formed between her and her brother, Malcolm will always be in her thoughts.
Lloyd sees Calson and Brandt as yet more little brothers to watch out for, with all the sibling bickering that entails, on Calson's part. Her relationship with Brandt is not as volatile, with the gentle giant often eager to learn from her. Even if she makes for a poor teacher, due to her difficulty with trying to see things from another's point of view.
In Edwards, Lloyd sees much of her late father. Or at least, how she had always believed Bear to have been like.
Unlike the rest of Wolf, who are compelled by either duty or even hatred for their enemies, be them Covenant or Insurrectionist, Lloyd appears to lack such conviction. That is not to say that Lloyd does not understand or appreciate the severity of the Covenant's genocidal campaign, but it would seem as if her time in the ODSTs was largely to sate her own curiosity about her father and his way of life. Until, at least, she met Wolf.
Appearance
Allison is a pale reflection of her beautiful, petite mother. Where Celina had golden curls and deep blue eyes, Allison had a matted head of straw and flecks of ice for eyes. But there was much of Bear in her, which may have earned her more than her fair share of teasing growing up about looking too boyish, but it meant she was taller and stronger than other girls her age. And most boys, too.
Even before enlisting, Lloyd preferred to keep her hair cropped short rather than deal with the fuss of trying to tame the tangles of straw. Beauty is rarely a concern in the ODSTs, luckily.
Equipment

Lloyd has made very few alterations to her ODST Battledress, and later, DAYBREAK Exoframe. But of course, her position on the team means she is rarely without a fully stocked medkit, which includes biofoam, medigel, and at least one dose of what ODSTs have come to refer to as the "Shot". The Shot is a powerful narcotic that is meant to ease the passing of mortally wounded troopers when evac is not an option. A harrowing aspect of the job, but one Lloyd carries out all the same.
While tapping into the enemy battlenet or breaching security systems falls outside the purview of her assignment, Staff Sergeant Edwards isn't in the business of squandering useful talents. As a result, Lloyd always carries some manner of personal comm pad or wrist-mounted TACPAD. Sometimes both, just in case the other breaks.
A helmet mounted flashlight and a pair of needle nose pliers have many use cases, especially for a trooper who finds herself sewing up marines and hot-wiring rebel Warthogs all in the same week.
ODST medics drop into hell same as any other trooper and are expected to outfit themselves for the occasion, but even so, Lloyd prefers to stay light on her feet, preferring the likes of the M7S Submachine Gun or MA5K carbine. In addition, with her expertise in Covenant technology, there's nobody Edwards trusts more with scavenged alien weaponry than Allison Lloyd.
